We once had an elder alot like the one you describe.
He basically was from another planet and no one was on his wave length!
He would go from person to person like you said and insult anyone who didn't come up with the exact word he was looking for.
He made it a habit to insult the whole bookstudy on a regular basis and then accuse us of being stupid because no one wanted to raise their hand and take that abuse!!
He was Crazy and mean!

A Twist On The Prisoner Story ,Are We..........?
by Ranchette inare we too hard on ourselves and others at times?.
i posted the following on msils "crazy prisoner" thread but i wanted to start a new one because i think we all have felt this way at one time or the other.. wondering why we cant just get it together and leave the past behind?
then i find that i think i have my life together and im wondering whats wrong with every one else?

Are we too hard on ourselves and others at times?
I posted the following on Msil’s "Crazy Prisoner" thread but I wanted to start a new one because I think we all have felt this way at one time or the other.
Wondering why we can’t just get it together and leave the past behind?
Then I find that I think I have my life together and I’m wondering what’s wrong with every one else? Then it starts all over again!I believe we sometimes expect too much and are too hard on others and ourselves.
Read Msil’s story first and then read this and then maybe we can understand a little better why we are going through these cycles.

I’ve been thinking about this story.
If this guy had a happy well adjusted normal life before he served this long prison sentence and he had all his friends and family on the out side waiting for him with open arms when he got out, then I would think something was very wrong with him if he could
Not take his memories of this past life along with his wonderful support system and get on with life instead of being obsessed with life inside of the prison.But that is not how it happens for so many.
This is closer to what happens.
He was raised in a terribly dysfunctional family never knowing what normal is.
In fact some of his family is in prison before him. He as a result of this foundation grows up and spends most of his life in prison. All his friends are in prison (such as they are) all he knows is prison life.
After this long life sentence he is release. Freedom at Last!! Or is it, he asks?
He’s never known any thing else and doesn’t know where to start.
No support system.
No Family
No Friends
No past to map a new life.
This is very scary and can be paralyzing.
We can become obsessed with our past because it’s all we know. We want our friends and family released from prison too!We can over come this but no one has a right to tell us to “JUST GET OVER IT!”
So yes, we stand outside the gates staring back in.
Yes we will do just about anything to free the ones we love.It just takes time.

she surprised me today by going on kent and randy's websites and reading them -- she did this for most of the day.

A HISTORY OF GOD by Karen Armstrong?If you haven't please do.You can check these out at the library.
Also if you haven't read COMBATTING CULT MIND CONTROL by Steven Hassen
I have a copy for you.Just email me your work address.They helped me to feel comfortable going at my own pace with all of this.
We don't have to have all the answers at once.We've been so used to being told what to do that freedom is a little scary.
We were also taught to put our hopes and deams on the back burner so as a result we are not used to knowing what we want out of life.
We have to get used to this gift of freedom and responsibility.
The reason I use the word responsibility is because it is up to us now to take control of our lives.
Making mistakes is one way we learn.So the worst thing that can happen is you try something and it doesn't work you have to try something else.Not the end of the world like we were taught as JW's.
We don't have to fear condemnation for normal human mistakes.
Relax and try to enjoy your life while searching for answers.Ranchette

You have no reason to come any where near him unless he trespasses
on your property again.
Dueling restraining orders will hopefully buy you the time to get that will declared legal.Keep us up to date and feel free to vent all you want.

(revelation 22:18,19) i am bearing witness to everyone that hears the words of the prophecy of this scroll: if anyone makes an addition to these things, god will add to him the plagues that are written in this scroll; 19 and if anyone takes anything away from the words of the scroll of this prophecy, god will take his portion away from the trees of life and out of the holy city, things which are written about in this scroll.. anyone who seat himself in the seat of moses is condemned.
anyone that follows such a person is condemned.. anyone who change gods' word is condemned.. condemned by whom?
the almighty god jehovah.. get a life, and get over it, "all those that condemn"!!!!!!!!!!

I believe that if you have nothing better to do than tongue lash us with scripture, you should take your own advice and "GET A LIFE"!
As others have pointed out we are in the process of reestablishing our lives after WT.
We have many issues to work through,
We have been hurt,
Lied too,
Abused,
Robbed of our freedom,
Torn away from those we love the most, our family and friends.
We have been vilified
I could go on but I think you get the picture!We see the sadness and waste of our lives in the org, and it pains us to see our friends and loved ones wasting theirs and continuing to be victimized by this organization whether they know it or not.
What we are feeling and communicating here is much bigger than the WT org , this place is for us.
We need this place and if you don’t like what we have to say here then you can go elsewhere.
You have no right to try to make us feel bad for working through our issues!Ranchette

Wasn't Barry,a member of the GB, one of the signitures on the application?If this is true how could they claim the GB didn't know?
Also how are they going to explain away how they used this membership to its fullest.For example,
We can find DPI info in their literature along with DPI photos neither of which they would have had access to without their membership.
Also I pointed this out yesterday in another thread. It is a quote from WT's MISSION TO AFRICA BRUCHURE it is as follows in italics.Our activity was often hindered by difficulties particular to the region. Distances are vast and lines of communication almost nonexistent. The best form of travel, if not the only one, is the airplane. Often we used the H.C.R.'s (United Nations High Commission for Refugees) planes.
Now I have to ask this question,how would the WT society have access to UN planes without this membership?I don't think the UN is in the business of loning out planes to just any one who wants one even if it is for a good cause.
The facts speak for themselves and these excuses and lies we keep hearing will only make things worse for them!They have always had a hard time coming clean even when they are caught red handed.

Hey all you active ones!
by mommy inin a discussion with my mom, she mentioned that since the sept 11th there has been a few letter read to her congo.
she didn't go into details, and i didn't want to push to hard about what they said.
but she mentioned that now the world leaders are starting to cry peace and security.

When I turn on the TV or look at the Press or even talk to any one on the street,
Peace and security are the last things they are talking about or feeling right now.The Govs are crying War! Terrorist! and Anthrax!

Knee jerk reaction to "organisation"?
by expatbrit inhey everyone, i downloaded all your personalities from jw.com into my psych-anal-tron.
it noticed something i found interesting: a curious reaction to the word or concept of organisation amongst us apostates.. it seems whenever the word "organisation", or the concept of "becoming organised" is mentioned, we shy away, repulsed or antagonised.
there are reactions like "i just left a high control group, i don't want anything to do with organisations again.".

The word organization has an extra meaning to us ex-JWs.
We use the word organization sometimes interchangably with the Society,WBTS,Religion etc..
It's just a habit left over from our JW days.Organization in the literal sense is a great thing because it helps us accompolish things effecently.
And there are various good organizations that we can belong to.But you are right when we use the word in the first way I described it is usually a negative thing.
It has every thing to do with our teaching and personal experience.
