Which WT and what pages? I have been eagerly awaiting Blondie's comments, but to no avail lately. I try to keep a step ahead of my possiblly re-active husband. Though he hasnt been studying for months now. I want to keep sharp so I am able to know what is being said .

It's true that all faders or "fence riders" should be totally aware of the security risk of facebook, but the actuality is that many don't. Those are the type of people who are hurt by an inadvertant "outing" on their page of a "like" or having the page show up as one they joined, when they had no idea of this happening.
I agree that this AAWA group should have a warning on the page about the risks of personal information being shown, since AAWA has NO CONTROL over facebook or the continual changes they keep making and causing security risks, for everyone.( though the JuanV post early on suggested a concensus to "open" the page for a while... but that seems to be very confused with that posting and related ones not being addressed)
I also agree that innitially AAWA should have messaged everyone in the group about being added, deleted the entire group then reopened it and accepting those who ask to join. This specifically, along with a warning about potential personal information that is shared by facebook that is out of AAWA's control.
Those who join, must do so with knowledge of the risks. Then AAWA is not responsible for anything happening with regards to the facebook accounts.
As is stands now, there are people who were unknowingly added, and it is irrelevant WHO added them. All that is relevant is that those people added didn't KNOW about it at the time and some may still be in there. With the notorius habit of facebook changing security settings all the time, it is a timebomb just waiting to explode.
It saddens me so much since AAWA is so needed. Plus, some people's personal lives are now at risk of being unwittingly "outed".

U.S. Chronic Pain Patients -- No More Pain Meds
by Lady Lee inthe american pain foundation has closed its doors due to lack of funding and a growing hostile environment towards those who suffer with chronic pain.. with deep regret and heavy hearts, we sadly inform you that due to irreparable economic circumstances, apf must cease to exist, effective immediately.
on may 3, 2012, the board of directors formally voted to dissolve the organization.. the board and staff have worked tirelessly over many months to address a significant gap between available financial resources and funds needed to remain operational.
unfortunately, the economic situation has not changed in any meaningful way, despite our best efforts.. apf hopes to be able to transfer content from various information, education, and support programs to other organizations so that you may continue to benefit from the value these programs have provided to thousands of individuals and families across the country.. your personal experiences in living with pain and seeking compassion, empathy and medical care often against the odds -- have driven our efforts over these many years.

When my father suffered uncontrolled pain of back to back shoulder surgeries, and tooth abcess, and back pain, while he had parkinsons he then progressed rapidly in his parkinsons symptoms. irreversablly.
I also believe the pain he had from his cancer surgery also set him back for his body to heal.
I an fully in agreement with pain mamagement, not allowing it to be uncontrolled, so you can use less pain medications in the long run. Uncontrolled pain needs way more pain medication to try to get it under control again.

I am really hoping, as I am sure so many here hope, that the problems will all be taken seriously by the AAWA board so as to fix the things mentioned here. The EXJW community needs a strong, unified front to help bring the message to more people.
Hopefully soon there will be good media attention focused on AAWA.

Venetian,
At one point early on one of the board members "juanV(something) admitted here in a thread that the "seeret" group was set to "open" for a period of time. I believe this was the point that people were not only added without permission, but also the no longer "secret" group was showing up on their own personal page where it could be seen by others. Then, later, the board changed it back to "secret" again. I saw upset people posting about it within hours of the "open" period and the upset/angry posters here were at first begging the board to delete the group, then reopen it again as "secret" so all people would need to ask to be re-added. No one would be there without knowing, and the group administrator would have to give permission. ( I still don't have a clue as to how anyone could identify a "mole" though.) I can't imagine how one could do that and contacting each person who was in the group by a PM to let them know. It seems like an overwhelming task, but, this is when some of the the posters who were upset then became angry. Some of those added people are still in the group, and the potential for serious problems for some are still there.
The concern is specifically for those people who were added without knowledge. People who might not use facebook often and were friends with people who added them without thier knowledge. That is a serious, serious matter. Facebook is horrible about privacy, but some may have never would have joined an obvious Antiwatchtower group, or posted anything to suggest they would support AAWA (even if they did) because their real identity was used on facebook. Some of those added may be people who would turn in others, some may be faders, some have no interest at all, etc. It is that concern over those people who were added without consent, and may still not even know what is going on, that is so bothersome.
i can appreciate the dilemma the board was in by that time, but the main concern should be for those who may be jeopardized, and the effects of that may not show up after a longer period of time than just a week. Facebook security is bad. It is smart not to use real names, but the fact is, many have and still do. The integrity of the "secret" group was compromised when it was set to 'open" for a period of time. It remains to be seen just how many could be affected by this.
That said, I support the AAWA and the mission, as I believe even those who are complaining here so much about the issue also support their mission, (even the name complainers) and have been so very excited about the group . The rest of the AAWAs actions are exciting and welcomed, and I personally look forward to the future of the group. I also sincerely hope that the Facebook incident is as the board currently believes- that no one else is hurt by this. It's just that the board, nor anyone else, can know this for certain until enough time has passed for it to show up.

so now what?
by Kaltas1 ini don't really know what to say i'm a bit nervous.
but i am new here and i want to say thank you all for these forums and the many contributions people have made.. for about 9 months i been frequenting here and other places on the net while i have undergone an in depth bible analysis.
after finding that my bible is not consistant with the more favorable options of translating greek words especially in key doctinal areas, i have concluded the great unlikelyhood of jehovah's witnesses having god's blessing and approval.. not just that though.

Prophesies True or False?

is that true?.

PJoseph, It's nice to see you are here. It give me hope for my own husband and many like him.
I have never been a JW but my husband was raised in it, never baptized, and after 30+ years of being away from it, promising he would never go back into it, decided to study with them 2+ years ago and wants to become baptized eventually! It is a horrible experience for me to say the least.

RC Church - Originated when ? Spiritually Strong Ones please.
by *lost* inbeen doing a bit of research trying to tie in together a few different strands.. not too sure what happened to christianity and how organised religion took hold again after the apostles died off.. i know jerusalem was sacked 70 ce.
but lots to fill in from that point onwards to bring us to where we are today.. if a few peeps could help to condense and simplify the info down into a few bite size pieces it would give us a starting point to begin to re-educate ourselves to the truth.
and fill in the blanks.

Another interesting topic is the fact there are more popes than just the Roman Catholic, and the Pope of the current Roman Catholic Church, Pope Francis, is of the eastern rite of Catholics.
I read up some on Pope Alexander I believe a Coptic Christian from Alexandria, who was in charge of the Council of Nicea. ( BTW I misspelled ayran, it was not that spelling and a different meaning...I meant arian.) and Pope alaxander dealt with this topic of the differences of the natures of the Trinity, and the problem of Arius, at this council.
