obviously c.t.russell had sympathy with the zionist movement of the day.. "christs presence" in 1879 ?
that is right and armageddon was to occur in 1914.. when that did not occur 1916-18 was promoted.

I think you are being a bit too hard on the Org Smiddy, One thing that came true was the start of events leading to a "Kingdom" in 1914, just as the Pyramid Russell measured foretold, (albeit it took a couple of trys).
Only trouble is it wasn't the Kingdom of God, it was the birth of the Kingdom of Satan, starting with the League of Nations and ending with the New World Order, whose sign funnily enough just happens to be that same Pyramid.

Morpheus, I have been out of the dubs 20 years so am unsure of their position, however, doesn't mean I am unaware of the Bibles position Matthew 5v37 and James 5V12

Attending memorial tomorrow?
by Ghiagirl inthis is my first year i will not attend memorial.
to be honest if it wasn't for my husband i would probably be going still.
he says what's the point, don't be one of those people who doesn't give a sh** but just shows there face once a year.

So I just attended the memorial in my own house and on my own.
Meant I could obey Jesus instructions in John Chapter 6 rather than saying to Jesus, "thanks, but no thanks, I don't need to eat your sacrifice, just being a Dub will save me".

remember, it's 27,000 pedophiles that they know about.

My Swedish Niece was repeatedly raped when she was a JW by her JW father, it has been a high profile case in Sweden that went to the high court and was covered by the media.
The whole family stopped being dubs before this even came out so I dont know if it even appears as a JW abuse case.

Memorial Question?
by naazira inover the years, i've come to notice that some of the friends will not touch the plate with the bread or the cup of wine ,when the emblems are being passed around.
i remember a row of 3 people told the brother to skip over them.
every year i have noticed this behavior.

Perhaps they figured that if they touched the plate and glass but didn't actually eat the sacrifice Jesus made for all men, they would be seen by Christ as refusing the gift of life he has offered them, probably the greatest of blasphemies.
By not touching they could convince themselves they didn't join in the same ceremony Satanists do to insult Jesus, and then when they get home they then hold their own Memorial away from the Elders gauze whereupon they would partake.

i don't get much time to be on here right now but it seems that cases are sprouting everywhere.

My Swedish Niece was raped by her father when the family were active JW.s, don't know if that was viewed as a JW affair or a family affair, I live in England and don,t like to push for too many details of such a painful subject, but apparently was well reported in the Swedish National media.
She won and he was found guilty but he appealed and it went to High Court where a clever lawyer outwitted her, so he then got off.
