Couldn't watch Bewitched, any day or night time soaps ( like Dynasty ) , any violent cartoons ( this included Tom and Jerry ) , any so-called demon cartoons ( like Casper ) , so-called immoral shows like Three's Company , certainly no R rated films , and the list goes on. As for the Smurf stories, once those started surfacing, my little brothers and sister could no longer watch Smurfs. My brother had a collection of little plastic smurfs, and he had to throw all of them away! God forbid they start walking around the house or something. I'm surprised they didn't burn them ( or maybe they were just afraid they would scream if burned, like demonised things apparantly always do! ). There were much stricter households than mine though. Atleast my mom allowed us to watch PG and PG-13 movies. In a hall we used to visit, there was a family that wasn't even allowed PG movies. Their mom said that PG stood for Pure Garbage! LOL

I think most brits are great. My sis lived in England for about 10 years, and she said most are nice, but depending on what area you are in, some are a bit snotty. The thing I like best about brits is their quirky sense of humour. They have a much better sense of humour than Americans.
When I was 17 I went on a cruise with my grandparents. Almost everyone there were elderly people, so I hung around with the guys in the bands. They were all English, and really cool. They couldn't believe I was American, because they said they had never met an American with a sarcastic sense of humour!

Hands up those who don't give a rats arse about religion / spirituality.
by Holey_Cheeses*King_of_the juice. in.
is it just me, or there others who have no room for religion in their lives?.
i appreciate that others are entitled to their beliefs and opinions concerning such beliefs, but i am amazed at the number of posters, who, after years of being oppressed and mislead by religion, still manage to garner some sense from the whole notion of god / religion / spirituality.. cheeses the cynic.

Proud of my Sister
by mattnoel in.
as you are probably aware i have two sisters, one we will call the b*tch jw who is self righteous and feels that she has a one way ticket to everlasting life (but in the meantime will sponge off others and be nasty and selfish) and then the other one who is not a jw and is absolutely wonderfull.. well...............she has finished her demo tape this last week and i got my copy via e mail, she has written her own album and sung it all, she sounds wonderfull.
one of the songs is being forwarded to record agencies all over the uk and aus and she also has a audition on pop idol later this year.. i know this may not be of interest to you, but i just wanted to post this as i am so proud of her, i would love to post the song on here but due to a big fat (c) on it i cant and if made publically availiable who is gonna want to buy it if it is released.. anyway, ta for reading.

Awwwww.....that's so sweet to see a brother proud if his sis. Btw, I am closer to my little sis ( step ), than I am to my little ( biological ) brother. Blood isn't necessarily thicker than water.

Help! Spouse thinks JW religion the most logical
by bittersweet inmy husband and i were discussing what makes some people become jw's last night.
i was saying that if i hadn't grown up in it, i would have never been drawn to it at all.
i'm not a very spiritual person.

You are so right Jayson! They believe it because they feel it can't be wrong. They don't want to even listen to reasoning. I ask my husband why he doesn't look into what could be wrong, and he says he doesn't have to because it's true. Yet how does he really know it is true if he doesn't look into what others have to say on it. It's almost like when you become a witness they take away your brain for gods sake! "It's true because they ( the org ) tell me it's true" kind of mentality. My husband can't even concieve of the idea that what he believes could be wrong. So because he feels he's right, he won't entertain the possibility that not all of what he believes is logical.
Arrrrggghhh.....drives me nuts!!

Nikita, I totally know how you feel. I wasn't allowed to go to my prom, even though I was engaged to a witness. My mom still wouldn't let me go. I was so dissapointed that I wasn't able to go. Funny how I could be allowed to be engaged, but not allowed to go to prom. To this day, it makes me feel sad. I really wanted to go. I feel like I missed out on a lot of stuff from high school, and that was just one of many.
I try to make up for it now!
