Perhaps you can mention to her that you have not told her the full story about why you are not going to meetings. You didn't want to burden her with your problems...the truth is that you are feeling depressed - you have been praying to Jah about your feelings of worthlessness because you feel you are not doing enough...
Seek to engage her emotions and endeavour to meet face to face to talk...
Go slow and take baby steps as you introduce matters that you have been meditating on - matters that you have been praying to Jah about tearfully eg R. Jensen lettersThat's what I mean't about not mentioning anything. I really believe that the above will be interpreted as "He's dangerous. There's stuff he wants to tell me. I mustn't give him the opportunity."
The longer you can maintain contact and prove that you are no threat the more chance, I believe, you have of reconnecting.
Everyone to his own, and obviously Flipper knows his daughter better than anyone - but that's my gut feeling.
Best wishes

My JW Daughter sends a Letter to us Explaining her Shunning of Me
by flipper inmy wife and i sent my 22 yr.old pioneer witness daughter and her husband a anniversary card and $ 40.00 and flowers the end of april.
my daughter wrote mrs. flipper and me each our own individual letters thanking us initially for the gifts - and then went into detail as to why she has not spoken to me for over a year and shunned me.. keep in mind as i paraphrase some of the highlights to these letters that the only negative thing i have said about the organization to my daughter in 3 years was to show her the ap news release about the child abuse settlements by the wt society .
i'll quote parts of the letter to mrs. flipper first :.

Facebook or your family? I know which I'd choose.
Sure they don't have the right but they're not gonna change.
You have to decide which you'd rather sacrifice. At some later date you could set up a new Facebook profile.
Don't put your photo on your profile, set the privacy settings so no one can see your friends and don't add your family to your account LOLPub

I think that you shouldn't confuse getting some sort of relationship back with your daughter with getting her out of the Watchtower.
Personally I'd think that the former is a better and more realistic possibility.
She needs to feel totally unthreatened by you.
How long did it take for her to reply to your gift? I'd wait approximately the same amount of time and then write back.
I would ignore any mention of religious stuff totally and focus in a gentle, natural way on her and your relationship - not too gushing and definitely no bargaining or pleading (however mild). I would leave the letter on an open positive note, nothing that requires an immediate response, maybe just a simple "take care and catch you soon"I would then leave it.
In a couple of months or so (if you haven't heard anything) send them something again - a card, postcard etc.
Don't acknowledge or mention anything about The Watchtower or religion at all.If you can manage to get through half a dozen exchanges of correspondance or manage to communicate for a reasonable amount of time (it could be a year or more) without any mention of WT stuff, she may start to relax and trust you. In it is quite likely that she'll be puzzled. Eventually she will probably ask you something directly. At this point I would suggest that you totally deflect it by saying something like "You know, I really love you and respect your views and I don't want to discuss anything that will make you think otherwise" and refuse to be drawn further.
By doing this I believe that you have a chance of rebuilding - in time . . .
Rushing or having an agenda of your own could be disasterous.
I'd forget Steve Hassan's book at the mo and ask yourself which you want more - a relationship with your daughter or the possibility of her batoning down against your approaches.Pub

elder snooping on facebook
by Cordelia inmy dad rang me last night really upset coz he had decided to go on facebook under a fake name to see what some people were up to in his hall and while he was there he decided to type my name in and he did not loike what he saw ie low tops short skirts the ex jw groups im on and also the night out i went on last sat with our very own sirona (a known apostate who apperently 'ruined my faith' according to my family).
anyway he's coming tonight to help me deactivate my account and i'm not going to he knows i dont want the 'truth' so why is he still trying to control me?.
and also like i pionted out these people hes checking out will not be happy hes been snooping and he can't see it just thinks he is helping them?.

Hi Cordelia
Nice to see you here again - met you very briefly at Dansk's apostacurry (God bless him)
First thing I thought about this post was that you can't just register a "fake" ID and then see everyone's profile on Facebook.
So someone isn't telling the full story - are you sure he wasn't bluffing to see what your reaction was?Pub

Do you still buy album CDs anymore?
by Leolaia inor do you mainly download?
i have been revamping my '80s music collection this week and resorted to downloading a bunch of music from amazon to upgrade to higher quality mp3s.
i have a ton of cds that i have ripped my music from as well, but i had to fill those holes with stuff i could only get from online stores.

I buy CDs!
I only ever download if I just want a specific track by someone I don't really like.
I recently bought an EP by Joshua Radin which was only available exclusively from iTunes.
I love the music I bought but it was a terrible experience - "buying data" nothing to show or hold . . .
I burned into on to a "Tesco CDR" and it feels tacky!Yes i use an iPod and my phone for listening on the move which is great - but give me the "Real Thing" any day.
What exactly are you gonna have to show for your money and as the "soundtrack of your life" if you buy data LOL

So let me get this straight
by TheICE ina web site called jehovah-witness.net where x-jw's and jw's who pretend to be jw's come to chat about how bad jehovah witnesses are and how they brain washed them etc, would it not be more productive to move on and forget than to let something most of you obviously hate take so much of your time and effort.. for some being a jw is about not being part of the world, what other religion is there that is as moral as a jw.
i am d'fed but i belive that jw's are the true religion.
sure some of them can be self righteous pricks but there imperfect just like anyone else,we all need to focus on us and not worry about what there doing because we can't change them.. .

JW facebook page growing fast, and already outing troublemakers......
by oompa ininteresting place to lurk and in just a few days there are 180 members....i quickly noticed there are very many posts raising questions elders hate to be asked...like why is there a no face hair rule except for mustache?.....and many others...like wedding rings are pagan...but due to nobody feeling that way now...why is that rule not applied to everything else like it...and on and on from many who have posted...... and they ususally want to know if there are biblical reasons for the rule or teaching!!!
!......this thing will not last long........oompa.
oh and if you join...the guys running it send pms to you listing the "trouble makers" found on the site....not sure if they can be kicked out without violating the rules like cussing and porn posting.......i just wonder how many tough questions they will let be discussed..... .

Has a single mistake brought down the Mormon Church?
Or the Christadelphian Church? Christian Scientists? Seventh Day Adventists? Any Church?
Hmmmm . . .
It's not gonna happen.
Individuals will however come to personal conclusions.
