interesting place to lurk and in just a few days there are 180 members....i quickly noticed there are VERY many posts raising questions elders hate to be asked...like why is there a no face hair rule except for mustache?.....and many others...like wedding rings are pagan...but due to nobody feeling that way now...why is that rule not applied to everything else like it...and on and on from many who have posted.....

and they ususally want to know if there are biblical reasons for the rule or teaching!!!!......this thing will not last long........oompa

oh and if you join...the guys running it send pms to you listing the "trouble makers" found on the site....not sure if they can be kicked out without violating the rules like cussing and porn posting.......i just wonder how many tough questions they will let be discussed....

    Jehovah's Witness Facebook Forum

There is NO WAY this site will be kept going in my opinion....The very fist page i saw a few days ago had about 8 or ten questions and threads running.....and i think most of them had "THOUGHT PROBING QUESTIONS!".......and we all know that is not appreciated by most in the org with strong conviction....i hope it stays up because most JW's really have not applied the advice in Chapter Two of the Truth Book...really prove to yourself if your beliefs are in harmony with the Bible....don't be afraid to scrutinize you faith...if it is true no harm no foul

We are supposed to be like Beoreans and study hard and find out if it is the truth...and of course "Make Sure of All Things"....yet what if oompa wants to "make sure" the NWT is accurate or not???.........hell no don't do it!!!!....especially if you are "gathered together as two or more an jesus is in their midst".....horrible thing to actually have a few over for a fact check!!.......................................................oompa

ps....there is box there that says..."invite friends to join"......so i have invited SEVERAL of my JW friends to join and already see their smiling faces on the friends list!......

Oh man there is a MONSTER thread on it where a sis has gone off and told the entire child molestation thread...she admits to being angry...it has 77 replies

There's nothing JWs hate more than questions that can't be answered by opening up a Reasoning book.

Personally, i don't see the point in going to these forums and doing the whole 'apostate sowing seeds of doubt with tough questions' routine. I always figure that if someone wants to leave, they'll leave and if they're REALLY happy with what they're doing and you can't offer them something better than what they have right now, then you should let them be. Besides, they're already a step in our direction since they're on a JW forum when the organization has repeatedely warned them not to fraternize on the internet.

But back to the topic at hand, people usually 'wise up' after a while with these online things.

When i was still an active member, I used to be part of a Jehovah's Witness Xanga webring (it still exists) and there were plenty of witness youth on it (i even met a few over the years). The membership numbers would ebb and flow, due to members being disfellowshipped, negelecting their pages and other times because there were some pretty loud ex-witnesses posting in the webring (dannyhazard).

I was even part of a private jehovah's witness youth(teens and 20 year olds) website that had about 30 or 40 members, but i voluntarily left when i started to fade.

I'm a member of the ex-JW community dedicated to the proposition that almost ANYTHING is better than what they already have. Maybe I cannot offer them a luxury cruiseliner, but I can point out they are currently chained to a burning ship that is sinking. The individual can FIND something better, once he has been empowered to think for himself.

I also respect your point of view and I realize that each individual JW is different and that leaving the cult can have dramatic negative consequences.

I do think there is an overload of questions by obvious non-jws. Why not do one or 2 questions, thoughtfully stated each week. Many even being an ex-jw, the flood of confrontational questions is like having 2 tablespoons in my food.
