Cafty the highpriest thinks he has the ability to determine truth. The humble believer is not in rebellion. He realizes man can only reason so far, see fractions of the picture and receives convictions from the Spirit. Amen 🥰

Personal conviction is all we need. The carnal mind is unable to determine the baboonish concept of truth. -

Believers: How do you know your view of your chosen holy book is the correct one?
by punkofnice indon't start fighting, darlings.
i am genuinely curious.
after all i was a jobo 50 years and thought the wbt$ was 100% correct.. i ask this because i see that, for example, christian denominations (or whatever), likely have differing interpretations of the same writing.

I would describe my Bible relation as a love relation and soundtrack to my life alongside the struggles and errors in my life. I enter the supernatural realm when reading or praying to Jesus. Had I not come to faith later in my life, I would see things much like many of you being comforted by a gospel of atheism and trying to find meaning in naturalism. With this sort of background who would love th Bible without Jesus doing something in their lifes. Im certain that will happen for all one day. Jesus is for loosers, Jesus is my cane, rock for the Rock Hallelujah 🥰

There are errors in the Bible if you want them to be, and there are no errors if you dont want them to be. It all depends on the light you view them in and what 21st century context you force the texts into. Variations in information on certain events etc. only strenghthens that the records were you not tampled with. Also, the Bible doesnt stand alone in Christianity. Without the Holy Spirit revelation and conviction, there is no basis for faith in anything but men. It is not a bookworm religion.

Mental Illness among JW's
by Victor indisclaimer: this article has some broad generalizations that will have exceptions to what is stated.
this is the only way i can even attempt to address the topic.
i've looked for scholarly articles published on peer reviewed journals for years.

Doubtlessly jw does nothing for the mentally challenged being told to wait on Jehovah. If only they would cry out the mighty name of Jesus in the day of evil

Warning Distressing Footage Relates to Genesis 19, Sodom & Gomorrah
by Slidin Fast inthis week's meeting stresses god's justice and righteousness in destroying the "wicked" people of the above cities.
we are told how patient and just big j was in this matter.
finally with a regretful shake of his head, he dispenses justice .. gen 19:24 then jehovah made it rain sulfur and fire on sodʹom and go·morʹrah—it came from jehovah, from the heavens.+ 25 so he overthrew these cities, yes, the entire district, including all the inhabitants of the cities and the plants of the ground.+.

Imagine if JWs taught eternal Hell as well. I fear they made a "mistake" there in the construction a manmade religion. God without eternal Hell could lead to atheism🤔

Do JWs believe that animals were created to live in harmony? Lion and the lamb
by Doubledecker inthanks to all who replied to my first post, i appreciate you taking the time to do so.. i left jws for my own reasons as a teenager as i just simply didn’t believe it .
i am enjoying playing catch up with all the information out there now showing multiple examples of false prophecies , covering up the truth and the jw broadcasting stuff is amazing ( as said before i’ve just ignored the organisation for 30 years ) , it’s totally brainwashing evangelical propaganda.. however i digress .... as a young kid i used to ask , “if in paradise the “ lion will lay with lamb “ and all creatures will live in harmony, why for example does a snake have venom if not to eat another creature ?”.
like i say i was 10 years old i remember so please excuse the childish question.. but do they actually believe that was gods original plan for animals ?

Death is certainly needed in the natural world. In spiritual context, it is an enemy. In his humanity Jesus is a spiritual Lamb and Lion as well ☺️

"Do you believe that the 'faithful slave' is God's channel of communication?"
by The Fall Guy inif a jw had the nerve to ask me this question, i'd say to them, "you go first.
using only scriptural proof, show me why you believe that the wtbts/ccojw is god's choice and i'll tell you if i agree with your scriptural reasoning.".
wait for the silence and the rabbit in the headlights moment.. i searched on the wt cd rom for references of "channel of communication.".

Why would God speak to a microbe? What is man that You should mind? It makes no sense than some insightful atheist reflection about God. Yet Deity's blood was spilled for his saints, the Church which God bought with his own blood Acts 20:28. Amen

I doubt the priests of Israel ever believed in literal vegetarian lions. Dream on 😄😄
