They don't want to step up to the plate as a congregation. Please consider helping out for your brothers sake. This is a slightly different situation, as I am talking about non-jw family, but my m-i-l now needs to be watched most of the time due to a stroke. She can be left alone for an hour or so, but not much more. She was not particularly nice to me over the years, lying, causing trouble, but my sister in law is doing the care giving daily while the son who lives with her goes to work, and I try to give her a break 1x/week, and am trying to get other family members to do the same. Being the sole care giver is hard and takes a toll.

Telephone Conversations Today with 2 Elders Re: Shunning - Or Not?
by abbasgreta inmy alcoholic and aged jw mother is now extremely ill and is being cared for in every respect by my non-jw brother.
3 sisters visited him yesterday and were adamant.
that i (disassociated and shunned by her for nearly 3 years) was able to 'visit her any time' and that ' there was nothing to stop me seeing her' as long as i. didn't discuss spiritual things with her.

Not invited to my nephews wedding
by outforever inknew that this would be the case - so not surprised.
quite happy to not go - as i would not like to see my mother / or my big sister at all.
this nephew is my small sisters son - my small sister and myself are very close - she does not go to the meetings anymore for quite a while now, her eyes have been opened.

WOW! That is beyond weird.
Don't know if you have the stomach for it, but perhaps at the next meeting you could ask for a minute of these 3 morons time in the back room, and tell them, VERY CLAMLY AND WITH RESPECT THAT THEY DO NOT DESERVE, that you would appreciate it if BR. LIAR never again lies about you to anyone , slandering your good name. Please tell those 3 Lying is never ok, it is neither thoughtful or helpful, it's only purpose is to start trouble, or to deflect attention from oneself in order that the liars own wrong doing might go un noticed. If he wanted to be helpful, the normal, thoughtful thing to do would be to talk to you man to man, expressing his concern for what he thought MIGHT happen. You're not saying that Mr. Liar has done anything wrong he wants to deflect, just that that is 1 of the reasons someone might lie about another. How does he know where the df ones live,( is he stalking them) or communicating with them regularly? Seriously, don't ask if he's stalking them!
I think if you call them out while remaining calm and matter of fact, they cannot argue with the facts. HE LIED. PERIOD. Then they tried to turn it around, as only ones who are corrupt can do.

You should be concerned that a man in his 50's turned down going back to work because he had committed to pioneering! Will he be able to get that job back after his month is up? How will they support themselves? Jobs are not plentiful. Will you have to help support them? You may want to address that issue first.
They are completely brainwashed, B. Sounds like they will just stick with the company line. Sometimes we have to deal with the hand we are dealt. So sorry!

I have just one question I didn't see addressed here: WHY COULDN'T THEY SAY WHAT THEY WANTED IF THEY WERE BEING RECORDED? I believe that is what you said one of the elders stated from the beginning when asking you if you had a recording device? They claim to be guided by Holy Spirit, yet they can't be recorded? No, wait, they're guided until they do something totally unscriptural, then all of a sudden they are imperfect men! You are better off without these fools! Go and have a happy life that you deserve. I know it's hard when you've been wronged, but you are giving them too much of your energy, and making them feel important.
