by eyeuse2badub inlast week i watched the docuseries on prime video called “the last narc”.
it was mainly about the notorious mexican guadalajara drug cartel during the 70’s and 80’s and a united states dea agent, kiki camerena, who was kidnapped, tortured, and murdered in guadalajara, mexico in 1984. this is a very well-known and haunting event here in the usa.. however, there was also about a 7-8 minute segment during the docuseries that graphically detailed the kidnapping, rape, and murder of 4 jehovah’s witnesses that also took place just days before kiki camerena was taken.
the jw’s were 2 married couples, us citizens, dennis and rose carlson, ben and pat mascarenas.

Why it's good to discuss politics (but if you don't want to, you don't have to)
by LoveUniHateExams ini was reading through this site the other day and came across several posts by different posters lamenting this site, saying what a shame it has gone from debating jw believers to talking politics and current affairs.. there are a few issues i have with these kind of posts.. first, discussing politics is actually a good thing.
well, in case you haven't noticed, we in the west are going through a culture war.
certain groups of far-leftists are trying - and sometimes succeeding - to shut down free discussion.

If this is true the Org sure has changed. I know of one person who quit the Post office because she had to raise and lower the US flag. The elders told her it was up to her conscience but you know how that goes if they say that the right choice is not to do it. The cult is really going down hill.

Corporations need to be sued for dumb crap like this. Its just stupid. The corporations forgets that sword cuts both ways. If we ever get to a point where its OK to force someone to do something against their belief it will be 1984. Even if its telling someone to not have racist views or misogynistic views. I get that someone can not wear a neo Nazi tee shirt at work, but when corporations try to spy on employees and fire them for what they do on their private time needs to be squashed. Free speech is not given by or based on what someone else thinks is OK or what is not. If you do your job and are not bringing it and spreading it at work then its no damn business of the business what you believe or do on your own time as long as its not illegal. This is a slippery slope. Next it will be if you dress up as a German Army or Confederate Army and go to reenactments you are canceled. What needs to be canceled is the cancel culture.

This BS about putting people in because of color is stupid. Jobs or positions need to be held by the most capable and talented not because of skin color. If they are holding back people because of skin color that is another story if there are not enough talented people who can handle the job who are black then that is that. You don't give someone a job to fill out some stupid liberal quota of skin color. The JWs have a lot wrong with them and we don't need to make crap up out of whole cloth. As far as women, the bible has a place for women and its not in positions of authority. I am not saying I agree with the bible I don't believe in it as gods word. But if you are going to believe in it as gods word its anti Homosexual, has a place of non teaching and authority for women ect. I am not going to create a straw man argument against the JWs for them doing what the bible teaches.
The JWs and other religions will cherry pick what they like and down play what they don't. Some religions try to bend or dismiss the scriptures that are anti Homosexual. This is just stupid. If you believe that this is gods word then you can not dismiss any of it. Women are not to teach a man that is just the way it is. If you don't like it don't follow the bible. I don't. I have no issue with someone being homosexual. That is their business not mine. But don't try to tell me that the Bible really says this or that and that Being gay or women being in authority in the church ect are fine. That is total BS.
The JWs have over 100 years of false prophecy and tearing family's apart and hiding child molesters ect. To me this is like picking up the speck if dirt and trying to make a big deal out of it while not talking about the 5 pounds of dog dodo on the floor.

1914 Dropped
by pale.emperor inso i was observing an online conversation between a jw and a former-jw.
the non-jw pointed out that wwi cant have had anything to do with satan supposedly being "cast out of heaven" because wwi was already well under way in oct 1914.. the jw proceeds to explain that satan was actually thrown down to the earth in 1915 and that he started to wreak havock on the earth from heaven knowing he was about to be cast out.. so 1914 is officially old light now?
does anyone have a source for that or was this brother lying through his teeth?.

I highly doubt it will ever be dropped but as we saw in the overlapping generation I would bet that they make it more about Jesus taking charge and less about being a stop watch staring point. Eventually it will be the date Jesus took control of things and less about it being a time line.
