False prophets or simply wrong expectations?

in a talk i heard recently, the brother was talking about how jws had certain expectations about the end, acknowledging 1914, 1925, surely before 1935 and 1975, then we learned that it's not in our jurisdiction to know jehovah's timetable.

then he said, some say that because we made those mistakes, some say jws are false prophets.

he said that was "simplistic thinking".

then why the urgency to place bible base literature.. that saves lives!!! If you don't die in The big one you get resurected..

They really pour it on about the end is near.. then you get baptised.. and they say "now you have to endure".. At least thats what the brother who got the credit for my conversion told me .. right after as matter of fact.. when he said it, he said " that's what the brother told me after I got dunked"

Then I was constantly been Told " I was running head looking at the End to much" you need to serve The WT not and end, they flip real quick on this ..

any one else notice this? They lie to themselves about the end .. all day long as the OP points out it's part of the training.. apocalyptic CULT 101

isn't this guy like the greatest anti-hero of all time?.

as the series wears on it is getting more and more difficult to sympathise with the guy.

but i must admit i stuck with him pretty far.

I think when he started abusing his relationship with Jesse.. he expects everything from him and really gives no consideration for him..

I love the show, but I only watched it once so specific details are missing.. but it seems I haven't liked walter for some time.. I think the power went to his head long ago..

I can't wait for the finally.. I need to go rent, or better yet I wish they replay a marathon.. to refresh..

Do you think Jesus WANTED to be turned into a religion?

stuff that has happened to me and people of other religions that i've met and read about--it makes me wonder if the caretakers of "holy writings" haven't bent us with their theology and pedantry.. i don't think jesus wanted us to make a religion.. he offered an experience of faith that was first and foremost an invitation.

the gospels--even if half diluted with error can't dispel the experiences we feel if we accept these words at face value: john 7:17-18.. i can't stay on- going to doctors today.. thanks.

Do you think Jesus WANTED any of his parrables to be turned into prophecies..( I'm not the first or last to misquote the bible)

.. so I noticed in the OP you don't think Jesus wanted what he got .. many religions claiming to represent him... and that paul is responsible for this .. did he not appear before and comand him to do so..

If it is not how Jesus wanted it to be, would you say his mission was a failure.. why doesn't he fix it?

a day when you just have to have a taco?

and you have to go home and make it yourself because there is no taco like a home-made taco?

i'm running low on salsa, too, so i went to the market and stocked up on tomatoes, jalapenos, onions, cilantro.
