I don't usually like folk bands but I love these guys. The Lumineers. They were just on SNL this last Saturday.

Ho Hey by the Lumineers has been on youtube for 10 months but I have only heard them locally for a couple months. Stubborn Love has been on for a year. I can't believe its taken so long to hear about them.

Of Monsters and Men is another folk indie band I like. I saw them live last summer and they were fun and good-natured.

I am getting into Cat Power's new album right now. I've been into her since Moon Pix. My favorite cut right now:

I enjoyed their debut album. Really pretty simple music but it is good folk music. I liked Mumford & Son's debut album but their new one, not so impressed with. I know a lot of people like that new band .Fun but they've been played out just a little bit too much. If I never hear We Are Young again it'll be too soon.

Black Keys are probably my favorite newer band right now. I loved their last three albums. Tried to see them in concer three years ago but they cancelled the show due to a scheduling conflict. I will be seeing them in April this year. Pretty excited.
