  i always felt sorry for the daughter who had to spend the rest of her days at the tabernacle because her father made a numb-nuts promise to god.

  Scientists Warn of Rising Oceans as Antarctic Ice Melts

  the collapse of large parts of the ice sheet in west antarctica appears to have begun and is almost certainly unstoppable, with global warming accelerating the pace of the disintegration, two groups of scientists reported monday.. the finding, which had been feared by some scientists for decades, means that a rise in global sea level of at least 10 feet may now be inevitable.

  the rise may continue to be relatively slow for at least the next century or so, the scientists said, but sometime after that it will probably speed up so sharply as to become a crisis.. this is really happening, said thomas p. wagner, who runs nasas programs on polar ice and helped oversee some of the research.

  up to 13 new songs will be released over time to equal a revised new song book and changes to songs in place due to the new bible.

  the revised song book cover will look like the new bible.

  it's almost as if the GB is "settling in" into this old system and getting comfortable. No more imminent end or brash statetments of types/antitypes

  they are backing off, doing damage control and going mainstream(ish)

  they need the persecution complex but holidays, birthdays and voting will always provide this.

  I agree, blood will be a non-issue in 5-10 years. I don't think they'll make a big deal out of it. Quietly, in a QFR or small article they will sneak in obfuscated wording that doesn't smack in the face of blood refusal but opens the door for concientious transfusion. It will be between you and Jah and you aren't to share your decision/opinion with anyone.... kind of like organ transplants. hush hushAnd they'll still maintain an HLC to soften the blow for the hard liners. Within 2-3 years the HLC will be quielty discontinued

  1914 will never be dropped, but the plethera of events tied to it are dropping like flies. This AGM continues this pattern of the past 5 years. Terms like "beginning of the harvest work" instead of "since 1914" slowly become the new axioms. This has already happened even with regard to 607BCE with only one referece to the year in an article followed by "since Babylon's conquest of Jerusalem..." etc.

  this was just a countdown to the last days and the perceived end of the preaching work

  but they learned a lesson! just look at the 1915 year text! they now had to endure test and be refined, just like all of us today, sometimes things dont happen like we expected, will we too be able to drink the cup of jehovah?

  I think your both onto the truth. The fact that the WTS actually stated the price for the company is presently unknown.... of course its known! $1.00 (!!)

  this was set up from the beginning to allow the JW's to own a shell company.

  I'm still not sure why they felt the need to actually own a company rather than just hire it out. Just money? smells fishy

  WHEREAS, QCS is a corporation organized under the New York Transportation Corporations Law as a telecom company, and a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity was issued to QCS on November 15, 2011, by the New York Public Service Commission ("PSC") to operate in New York State as a facilities-based provider and reseller of telephone service, without authority to provide local exchange service; and WHEREAS, Watchtower is a not-for-profit corporation that owns three complexes of office, residence, and ancillary buildings located in or near the communities of Patterson, Wallkill, and Tuxedo, New York and is developing a fourth complex of such buildings at or near Warwick, New York, which complexes will have a combined population of approximately 5,000 on-site residents and staff providing religious and charitable services to the public; and WHEREAS, QCS intends to install a high-speed, fiber-optic network between Watchtower's facilities in Patterson, Wallkill, Tuxedo, and Warwick, New York, and, upon completion of the network, to enter into an output contract with Watchtower, under which Watchtower will purchase 100% of the network data, voice, and internet services that QCS can provide for use and benefit of the residents and staff living and working at Watchtower's complexes;

  I think were going to see the WTS creating telecomm services to its own branches and KH's world wide and getting government grants as a result.

  Of course, KH's will agree to plege a monthly donation for these internet services that stream data directly from the mother ship to the congregation

  the new young blood gb member, you think he really thinks this is the truth or is he protecting his financial interest like all the older gb members who enjoy basking in glory of men?

  do you think they believe in the "over-lapping generation" or was that a mistake done by barr?.

  how much of the watchtower and the bible do the governing body know, ray franz jr. said he was not impressed with their bible knowledge and their lack of knowledge of the watchtower cannon.

  I share OnTheWayOut's sentiment

  I think they honestly and sincerely believe Jah is running the Org. But when they get in the top seat, they can't help but feel a sense of dissappointment with reality.

  Certainly any JW on the planet would imagine all sorts of divine direction and "guidance" from Jehovah amongst the GB. But once they get there, they're busy consulting the Legal Dept. about what they can and can't do in a situation, and consulting a research team about what they currently teach in print on a complicated subject and then directing another team to figure out a way to transition their old light into their end product new light.

  There must be a sense of "business" when making the big decisions. The lack of "spiritual guidance" from Jah must be present. the feeling, the knowing that THEY are making a decision that will have consequences must make them feel like they are doing this on their own without Jehovah

  I would imagine there are some among the GB that long for the old days of warm fuzzy ignorance to the reality of running a major corporation.

  Is truth relative?

  seeing various/changing laws on the same action, some may feel truth is relative, and there is no such thing as right and wrong.. yet a closer look at beneath the details would show that truth is not relative, and everyone knows what is right and wrong.. driving in the night by putting the head-light off is wrong, but right when country is in war with another country.

  behind both the conflicting laws, the truth is same: safety and welfare of the people.
