How well known is JEHOVAH?
by jwfacts infor anyone that has not been to www.ted.com than i strongly recommend it.
there is the most amazing range of information regarding science, religion, medicine and technology, and provides a very positive view of what the world will be like in the future.. one talk i just watched was http://www.ted.com/talks/what_we_learned_from_5_million_books.html, which discusses a new ability from goole at http://books.google.com/ngrams to search on the change in how regularly words appear in book.
i thought an interesting comparison would be whether the word jehovah or yahweh is more common.

Jewish Mythology
by snare&racket inhello x. i have stopped researching the bible, having come to the conclusion it is all ball-bags, but something that still doesnt seem to make sense to the jw story and interests me, is jewish mythology.. the idea that the jews arrived "hello world" and then were eventually given commandments to follow and that they were then a bit naughty at times, until the man in the sky's test tube bay son came down and parted ways with the falafel people.. doesnt explain their belief system.. the jews have heaps of beliefs and laws that have no connection to the bible or god.
for example the story of lilleth.. does anyone know much about the lilleth story, where it originated?.
any other interesting jewish myths and beliefs that are interesting?.

Jesus or Yeshua married to Mary Magdalene? And had kids?
by IamPresence2012 ini listened to this reading and was amazed about how so little we know about the most famous person who ever lived at this time.
the link is below, but here are some pointers,,, listen and read with an open mind,,, i know most members are after being duped by organized religion.
it this gets some interest i will post a new one as it comes out next week.. tonight on an hour with an angel, jesus made some startling revelations, perhaps the most interesting of which was the acknowledgement that he did marry mary magdalene, had a daughter sarah who journeyed to the south of france after his departure from this plane, and that sarah was indeed what is known as the holy grail.

Question... Does an elder lose his privileges if his 18 year old son stops attending the KH?
by Alfred ini'm starting to get a clearer picture of what's been happening with my nephew who has recently decided that he no longer wishes to be a part of "the lie"... it appears that my nephew may have been forced to move out by his elder father who was afraid of possibly losing his privileges by having a non-believing son under his roof.
that is the impression i'm getting by talking to my sister (his aunt who is not a jw).. while i try to figure this out... does anyone know if that is a valid possibility in general?
i'm referring to the possibility of an elder losing his privileges because his son no longer wishes to be a jw but still lives under the same roof... any insight by recently faded elders would be much appreciated.... thanks.

What was the first thing you did...
by OneDayillBeFree inwhen you left the man-made organization currently known as the wtbts??.
and for those still "in" but mentally "out" what have you started doing thats against the silly, stupid and non-scriptural watchtower policy/law/rule??.
i know the question has been made before on another thread but i couldn't find it and also there's been quite some growth in new ones here to jwn, so just wanted to see if we could all share some lovely/funny/random experiences.

The LEGAL mindset of Jehovah's Governing authority (Plenary Power)
by Terry ina lot of the glaring distortions of common sense inherent in jehovah's witness mainstream thought flowed from the erratic legalist mindset of.
judge joe rutherford.. rutherford served for awhile as a prosecutor in a district attorney's office.. his view of "getting the job done" consisted of hammering away at an "enemy" with a litany of bullet points.. his theological mindset was hardly any different!.
look at the legal terms that seeped in to jw everyday parlance.. .
