something switch said reminded me of what three of my old jw girlfriends have said -.
"all my friends are leaving the truth!!!"..
you'd think it would make them think and research the 'why'.
What she really means is: "All my friends are leaving the 'false'"!

i found it interesting in the july 1st watchtower (the public's edition) that in their introduction to the article 'coping with grief' they feature a scripture from gen. 37:35 and under it the caption, 'the holy bible-new international version'.. are they trying to show how reasonable they are to the public by refering to the niv instead of their biased new world translation?
also, in that same magazine in an article on 'tel arad', a place by the way, i have visited, it again mentions that......" the findings at tel arad cover a long period of bible history, ranging from the days of the judges of israel down to the babylonian invasion of judah in 607 b.c.e.
" the still cling to that date 607 in view of overwhelming evidence that they are 20 years off.

so yes, the brothers came for "encouragement" and of course, my husband is out of town on business... so it was me and the kids.. so i did let them in, i like these brothers...these are some things we discussed.... 1. i went over how that stupid "obey" email got all this started, got me to divulge to my girlfriend how i was feeling about the whole religion.
about how at the end of the call she said that she can't associate with me anymore, and then right after that call/ 30seconds later while i'm crying a pioneer called and asked "do you consider yourself one of jeh witnesses anymore??
" and i thought that was crazy for someone to try to trap me when i was sitting crying on the phone, upset with the last call... i told them that for all purposes i am already dfed since noone will talk to me anymore, and only one friend called to see what happened, everyone else just listened to the gossip of whatever spread, and wrote me off even though i'm technically in good standing.
I may have missed this point, but is your husband a JW? And what do you think he will feel about the Elders calling you when he was gone. I'd be mad as 'hell' if they did that to my wife.

hi all.
in your opinion, what was the silliest , most laughable watchtower teaching/doctrine, since its beginning until now???.
chukyy.
You don't need to research or read any worldly publications. We will read everything and tell you whats important to know,in the Watchtower magazine. Now that is funny to me!

after finishing "combatting cult mind control" i decided to move on to the next logical book.
i've read the first 100 pages of "crisis of conscience" and it's gone by really fast.
now i know why this book is so important.
Ray's other book, IN SEARCH OF CHRISTIAN FREEDOM is also a must read. Also, Jeff VanVonderen's book, THE SUBTLE POWER OF SPIRITUAL ABUSE is highly recommended!

hands down my all-time favorite was the flintstones.
it's just so hard for me to compare anything else to its humor, cleanliness, appeal to young as well as older ones at the time.. .
no matter how bad a mood i would be in after school i could always count on fred and barney to screw something up to make me feel better lol.
I can think of two. One was called 'The New World Society in Action'. The other was, 'The Divine Plan of The Ages'.
Both were very funny!
