Cedars has flaws and has made mistakes, but I think the accusation crosses a line. If the person has evidence, they should go the proper authorities.

New World Translation Vs. Kingdom Interlinear Translation ... your thoughts
by Ianone in8: 58 footnote 1985 ed kit blue (01).
8: 58 footnote 1969 ed kit purple (02).
jesus, himself tells us just how important it is.

That's the hype, but Freddie didn't always adhere to it.
For instance, charis is sometimes translated gift and sometimes 'undeserved kindness'.
He could be fast and loose when he wanted to be.

When You Were A JW Did You Ever Stand For The National Anthem?
by minimus inas a witness i always found a way to not have to embarrass myself by sitting down for the national anthem.. i’m curious.
how many of you stood up for the patriotic song?.

Yep, the rule was, you had to sit during the anthem...UNLESS the flag salute came first, and since you were already standing for that out of respect...
In public school, I complied and it sometimes made me a target of teachers. I often tried to avoid being anywhere where this might come up, if I could do so. For instance, rather than attend a pep ralley, I sat outside the gym and read a book.
None of these rules made sense to me even then. I could not effectively explain to myself why I had to sit during the anthem, but stand during the pledge (unless the pledge came first). In retrospect, it all seems designed to make a JW stand out.

School inspection is just like a CO visit.
by pleaseresearch inso our school has just had the school inspectors in, looking and observing lessons.
the similarities with a co visit is uncanny.. how well behaved teachers, members of staff and pupils are..

If alcohol was a DF offense
by James Mixon ini guess the question which is the hardest to give up smoking or alcohol.
many folks gave up smoking in the 70's including me but i have known some hard drinking brothers and if consuming any kind of alcohol became a df offense, i wonder.....

And some on the Governing Body, Bethel heavies, and many Bethelites would be out the door as well.

JWs - Liberals or Conservatives?
by neat blue dog inwhere they stand is a strange mixture.
yes, they don't agree with abortion and homosexuality, they believe in the bible and wear skirts and ties to church .
but in many ways they're liberal.
-
Londo111
They are social conservatives because they share the same fundamentalist mindset as other religious fundamentalists.
However, there is a liberal mindset in the sense that they do believe in a government (although an imaginary one) that will help solve homelessness, joblessness, poverty, war, lack of healthcare, ect...everything that would be the ire of Ann Rand devotees.

Many Witnesses are just plain tired out!
by UnshackleTheChains ini believe that many witnesses are tired out or at least tiring out.
i know....... because i am tired out!.
imagine going to college for 20 years not knowing when college is finished.

The organization also loves to blame the individual for being tired out. That person must be doing something wrong, it's not the organization's fault.

Did you leave the JW RECENTLY? Really? Recently? WTF were you thinking?
by The Real Edward Gentry innot to be overly harsh...but if you just left, what the hell were you thinking?
between 1995 and now, you never did an internet search of "jehovahs-witness" or "watchtower"?

It's called indoctrination and undue influence/thought reform/mind control.
I well remember the fear of the apostate boogeyman with somewhat mystical powers to cause people to leave "the truth" with just a few magic sentences. They were predators who craftily lured people "lies, half-truths, and misrepresentations". They were "angry and bitter".
And whenever there was a red flag, there were the thought-terminating cliches. "Wait on Jehovah. Where else will we go? The light gets brighter..."
Hindsight is 20/20.
