Like toasting and beards, I could never figure out the prohibition on this, but still, I complied.

Sneezing in the presence of non-JWs
by compound complex ingreetings, cold and allergy sufferers:.
i'm in good health currently, but i do sneeze quite a bit, bringing down the rafters, as one sister exclaimed at the kh.
apart from that, no jw ever acknowledged my clearing out .

Doubling up on Circuit Overseers for Apostahunts?
by Wakanda inin my area i know of four congregations dissolved in one circuit, so that leaves eight weeks a year empty for that circuit overseer's calendar.
dissolving congregations is happening more than in my area, so i believe we can assume other c.o.s have open time.
it appears that c.o.s are visiting with a companion c.o.

Congregations are mostly being dissolved to re-org, consolidate Kingdom Halls, and sell any excess with proceeds going to Watchtower.

Why is Enoch referenced in the bible but his book omitted?
by Ursula inwhy is enoch referenced in the bible but his book omitted?.

Because there was no accepted cannon until the 3rd or 4th century, and the books that referenced the book of Enoch were written in the late 1st or early 2nd century.

JWs biggest problem is not doctrinal issues
by Chook init's biggest problems are associated with its lack of genuine love and concern for the rank& file.
the average person doesn't need a food critic to tell them their hamburger is shit, in the same manner the average person can discern kindness and love.
gbs fake love and concern is evident in the way head office deals with victims of sexual abuse by jw clergy.

Lack of love and Watchtower doctrine are part of the same ecosystem. The doctrine causes a lack of love. People act in ways they don’t want to, because they are convinced the doctrine is right.
“I really don’t want to shun you, but Jehovah wants me to. How do I know that? Because the Bible says so. How do I know that interpretation of the Bible is the right one? First, we don’t interpret the Bible, but we kinda sort do, and because the Faithful Slave was appointed by Jesus in 1919 to help us understand the Bible. Oh, 1919? Well you see, Jesus came back invisibly in 1914 and a few years later appointed his Slave. Oh, 1914? Well you add 2520 years to 607 BC… So you see I have to shun you.”
Although a lack of love caused great cognitive dissonance over the years, had I believed it was The Truth, I’d be sitting in the Kingdom Hall front row center and knocking on doors. I’d slog it out best I could. No matter the problems, I’d says, “Well, but it’s still the Truth.”
In a way, it was lack of love, actually, seeing not just a lack of love, but the monstrous heart of the organization, that was the catalyst to finally six months afterward examine whether or not it was the Truth. But if I examined the teachings and merely came away with unclear whether or not it was, if the waters were too muddy, I’d still have hung in there. But as the evidence started rolling in, I no longer had doubts, but certainties. Of course, now I look back and see all their doctrine is nonsense upon nonsense and wonder why it took so long for me to figure it out.

New Instructions?
by FedUpJW ini may have missed it, but i just heard from a local elder that there are "new" instructions for how the two one day assembly's are to be conducted and handled......fifty-nine pages worth.
he said they will now all be put on the same as the regional conventions.
did i miss that letter/orders from "mother"?

Conventions and assemblies are moneymakers.
I thought that perhaps one day circuit assemblies would only be held one day a year, but then it was pointed out that the Watchtower would lose a huge stream of revenue.

In a way, I suppose change is inevitable. In fact, one future day, circuit assemblies and the religion will be no more. In the meantime, things will be in flux.
And lately, the rate of changes has increased as they seem to be rebranding. The floodgates have been released and it is not the same religion I grew up in. Who ever thought that the Theocratic Ministry School and Service Meeting would be thrown out the window and be turned into something else?
I keep thinking now they've moved into their new HQ, they might feel comfortable enough to even drop a doctrinal bomb at this year's annual meeting.

So this guy seems to be the equivalent of a Branch overseer, or perhaps a District overseer? Not sure the exact JW equivalent.

Getting your WT files deleted (UK)
by Splash inthe uk are tightening up their data protection laws to make it easier for individuals to get hold of the information organisations hold on them and to get it deleted.. i think paul grundy (jwfacts) went through this with wt once and found it very time consuming and difficult.. will wt now abide by the law and hand over or permanently delete the records it keeps when requested?it would mean every uk exjw could have their report card info, personal file with age, sex, baptism date, judicial information, appointment/deletion/disfellowshipping dates, letters of disassociation, letters of recommendation when you move, phone number and address permanently removed.
anyone acting for the wt (elders) who retain this information, eg your phone number in their phone or the secretary keeping your historical monthly report details, will be in violation.
failure to comply will incur a fine.. expect a letter to all boe's any time soon explaining why this does not apply to them.. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-40826062.

I wonder love to have my information extracted and destroyed, but I am in the US.
For those not in the US, I wonder, does the US HQ comply with a request abroad to redact in their records? Or would they fall outside that country's privacy and information laws?
Of course, due to theocratic warfare, I do not trust that Watchtower would truly destroy their records on a person. It would be impossible to prove.

Unfortunately, this doesn't help us over here across the pond.
