It was really hard to parse.
Then again, maybe those Golden Age writers had partaken from Rutherford's liquour runs during Prohibition.
Gravity? No such thing!

If true, Watchtower will simply find another puppet to speak through. At one time, we ourselves were their spokesman and puppets, playing fast and loose with the truth because we were in a cycle of being deceived and self-deceived.
I believe that all JWs have doubts sometimes, find meetings incredibly boring, and hate the “preaching work”.
JWs can be nice people and seem like the most loving people on earth. Only too quickly, that can be a nightmare and they can become quite vicious, too no fault of their own. But this organization is quite toxic. I’ve found that happiness is having as little to nothing to do with it as possible.
is this true?
has anyone heard of it?
saw it on my facebook.. "jan. 6 bethel update 108 elderly bethelites getting the boot.. brooklyn, ny.
This was one of the things that almost woke me up.
It's a sign of the declines. As History goes forward the decline of the Watchtower is inevitable. Total extinction is just a question of how long. One day it will be merely a forgotten historical footnote.
I feel bad for those people who thought they were doing to best thing with their lives they though possible, only for it to be a lie, and chewed up and spit out. It is a blessing I was never Bethel material.
so, he received a letter that i am wondering if it is one of those open letters that are out there to denote time given.
it starts out with the name of the person sending it, then goes into the spiel...do you know our god's name?
when i was shown what it is, i kind of got upset.
What is amazing is that most denominations are not unaware of this...they've the name Jehovah in hymnals or the more accurate Yahweh will come up in one way or another.

the other day, this court decision was posted on jwn along with a link to the court document, but few expected the media to pick up the story.
so to all involved, i understand it was a surprise to see the story in print.
If a private “bridge club” mandated shunning of former members, then I would hope the court system would come to a similar decision.
I don’t know of anybody who has ever been kicked out or left a bridge club and committed suicide because of being severed by all their family and friends.
More and more, the Canadian, Australian, and UK legal systems are showing themselves lightyears beyond the US.
besides being raised in the religion , why do people become jws?
.
I’m third generation on both sides of my family. This was the mid-50’s. Both sets of grandparents were in their mid-20’s, newly married with young children. Coming up out the Great Depression, they were not very educated. They knew little about the Bible and the JWs who came to the door seemed to have all the answers.
I believe the JW teaching of no eternal hellfire torment is an attractive alternative to many other fundamentalist churches who put the “fear of hell” into their adherents.
The disfellowshipping arrangement and blood transfusion ban was freshly introduced not too long before this and my newly converting family likely real didn’t hear about that in their study.
It was a different religion in the 50’s then what it became...why the few people who do convert do so is likely somewhat different than why people converted back then.
i'd love to see you're favorite wt illustrations/photo's that they think are fine to print - but are actually kind of creepy/wierd.. .
here's my three fave from my book of bible stories (yes, a book for children!)..
man gets his head nailed into the floor with a tent pin by a good jehovah worshipper:.
It is definitely put together by people who live in a bubble and who cannot relate to children because they are not parents.

It's been said that often people have previously encountered some tragedy in their life, or change or stress, that predisposes a person. A death of a love one. Moving to an area where they've few friends.
People don't plan on becoming JWs. It is a low and slow process. They are introduced to teachings that make some sort of sense, they decide to learn more without thinking they will commit to anything. They are not exposed to contrary information sources and are warned against it.
They might not believe everything, but they make a few changes to their behavior, and their beliefs soon align to their behavior. That starts a cycle of modifying their behavior to more align with their beliefs, which aligns their minds to the beliefs ever more, ect...
They like getting attention from JWs visiting them...that leads to meeting invites where they are lovebombed. They mostly only see the positive, public face. It's hard to reconcile anything negative (however true) with this lovebombing. Even if they don't agree with some things initially, all they see is nice, "loving" people and they want more of whatever it is they feel they have that makes them that way.
so the wt used ex 1:6 to define a generation from the very beginning.
then in the this september broadcast the same person (splain) who spent 20 min with charts to explain a generation, makes a point that joseph and his brothers were very close in age?
(min 4:29).

With the principle of exegesis, one would let the writer of Matthew define what a generation is. Matthew 1 shows that generations do not overlap.
