I never realized how boring I was.
by John Aquila inas a true believer in the watchtower, i never knew how truly boring i was until being out for a couple of years and then sitting down with a group of jws and having a conversation..
thats what happened this morning.
i decided to go have breakfast at mcdonalds and a group of jws who were out in service and know me also stopped for breakfast and sat down with me and we talked for about an hour.

I'm still boring. Of course, I never pretended to be anything else. :) -

OSCE (The Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe
by Paul Bonanno ini have noticed that the jws are participating in meetings organized by the osce.
they are registered or participate under the "european association of jehovah's christian witnesses".
one point highlighted in this organization is tolerance.

I wish us ex-JWs could also be represented in the OSCE and other like organizations. -

Washington Post in US: Jehovah's Witnesses Face Child Sex Abuse Investigation in Australia
by cultBgone init's finally hit mainstream media in the us!
let's hope some savvy investigative journalists see a pulitzer for opening up this story to cover the us and worldwide cases.. jehovahs-witnesses-face-child-sex-abuse-investigation-in-australia/2015/08/14/.
everyone who is able should hurry up and post comments on their website as the pro-jw forces have rallied and are trying to squash this as libel.

Canadian Bethel among the secretive charities
by gone for good inhttp://www.thestar.com/news/gta/2011/11/15/audit_of_charities_encounters_resistance.html.
interesting canadian information on popular charities.
regarding the "cushion" factor that mentions how many years these charities could continue to function without a single donation remember that the wt brranches download all proceeds directly to new york.. classic cult conduct in handling donated fundswith minimal transparency.

For Those of You Who Still Serve... How Do You Do It?
by Kingdom Evader innew here... been lurking for some time now.... i still serve... but with each passing day, it gets harder and harder.
i'm slowly... slowly working on my wife (i call her mrs. hardcore) and even my m-i-l (who taught my wife how to be hardcore).
making some amazing progress... they are still hardcore... but unrecognizable from a couple years ago!.

The new 'classes' jehovahs-witness.net has created. Which one are you?
by Esse quam videri inover time a number of different 'classes' of members have arisen on this forum.
1] apple watch watchers - this group takes a great interest in watches worn by members of the governing body.
2] cult escape consultants - one who freely offers advise on how to flee from a cult - mainly the wt society.

4] Class categorizers –everybody must go into some box.

Conditioned to fail

Yes, if you are shy, have social anxiety, this is very difficult. For an extrovert, it would likely seem easy to start over. -

This is likely the number #1 problem for former JWs.
I find that the older one is, the more difficult it is to make new friends, real friends. Other people already have established social circles and have no room for newcomers. They are at capacity.
As a JW, all you had to do is show up. You are automatically trusted and "good association". Of course, this sort of 'friendship' is the equivalent of Monopoly money...once the game ends, it ceases to have value.

I think we should be happy for any guy who lands someone traditionally "out of his league". We should all be as lucky. Why would we feel anything else or be so judgmental?

Deconstructing Splanes 'Generation' explanation
by Splash inat around 4 minutes into the september 2015 video splane said "for the man and the baby to be part of josephs generation they would have had to have lived at least some time during joseph's lifespan.".
this is the lynchpin of the wt argument, that two lives must overlap to be considered the same generation.. let's take an example of twins who are born just a few minutes apart.
obviously, these twins are the same generation as each other.

From Numbers 32:
11 ‘The men who came up out of Egypt from 20 years old and up will not see the land+ of which I have sworn to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob,+ because they have not followed me wholeheartedly— 12 except Ca′leb+ the son of Je·phun′neh the Ken′iz·zite and Joshua+ the son of Nun, because they have followed Jehovah wholeheartedly.’+ 13 So Jehovah’s anger blazed against Israel and he made them wander about in the wilderness for 40 years,+ until all the generation that was doing evil in the eyes of Jehovah came to its end.
So Joshua and Caleb were the only ones part of the older generation (age 20+) to see the Promised Land. It took 40 years for that generation to pass away. It did not overlap with the younger generation who did inherit the Promised Land.
