I find that when a person goes into cult mode, the cult personality is pretty universal, be they JW or Scientologist or some other cult. The cult personality can be pretty vicious. Of course, when it comes from strangers on the internet, I sit back and laugh because they don’t know me. It only hurts when it comes from someone I know.

by cognitivedizzy inguys .
a letter was just read in out kh stating that all printing of wt and awake is ceased for the coming year and we will just place tracts on fs, countries which were cared by our branch will be cared by other countries...along with this they read the new fs form and stuff about reporting links of videos wtf..lol.
i can't tell which country perhaps that will give away a lot, any one with a similar information.

I believe we've foreseen this move for years. Perhaps it will occur sooner than later.

A question about fading....
by Tornintwo ini understand that many on this forum are undertaking a slow fade, over months, years even.. can i ask what is the benefit of that instead of a fast fade?.
as i understand it, the elders only have to deal judicially with people who are still active witnesses, known in the community as witnesses, having contact and influence with witnesses etc.
so surely the sooner you stop attending meetings the better.

As has been said, it all depends on circumstances.
As for me, I was divorced, and my parents never call or visit although they live in the same town. They have “no natural affection”. My best friend called me an “apostate” and cut contact. After that, I quit going. It’s been over three years.
Recently my father asked if I was an “apostate” via email. I tried to explain I wasn't because if an apostate means being the boogeyman that the Watchtower portrays than that boogeyman description does not fit me at all. He said he was printing off my emails (after dropping Matthew 24:45 question on me) and giving them to “my brothers”, ie the elders. I’m not sure where my records are or if he knows where they are, so good luck with all that! But I’m sure in his mind no matter what the elders say basically he has cut me off at this point.
I’m not sure if my life would be any different. Eventually fading ends with the same result as disfellowshipping or DAing: little to no contact with JWs.

JW Middle Schoolers vs Non JW Middle Schoolers - what was your middle/high school experience?
by Julia Orwell ini'm a secondary school teacher and i've spent a lot of time at school this year since i've left jws simply observing student dynamics.
i do a lot of playground duty and have the opportunity to observe the kids at play and in the classroom.
i've especially had the opportunity to observe middle school kids, that is, kids between 12 and 15 in my state.. my observations of these 'worldly' children are:.

My middle school experience: I was picked on constantly. It was bad on my self-esteem to be sure and effects me to this day. -

If the new time slips no longer record the number of magazines placed, then that will be one less criteria for the CO to judge in making appointments... -

The Angels will guide a nuclear bomb away from the Governing Body!
by John Aquila inthis is one major reason why i dont try to wake up anyone anymore.
they need to take the first step, and then i will help---- if they ask.
otherwise i just listen and marvel at how some of them think.

It is likely Al Qaeda has never heard of the Watchtower, Bible and Tract Society or the Governing Body and it’s never been on their ‘radar’.
And, of course, never mind the terrorists had been plotting for months and years to target the World Trade Center, a place that had previously been attacked, and nobody has found plans to target Watchtower HQ. Never mind that they did hit the Pentagon in DC as well. Never mind that Flight 93 was likely header for the White House but didn’t make it…

Do You Think Any Of The Governing Body Are Contemplating Suicide? Over This Rather Rude Financial Reality?
by Brokeback Watchtower infaithful and always so very discrete in many things but when it comes to the lord's money not so good.. i think as it begins to register in their minds as to what a terrible job they have done as ceos of a large corporation leading it into this condition that thoughts of suicide come from.
not to mention the shame at being a public spetical to the world by the rc.
all these things and more are creeping through their denial as they are forced to face reality.

Is it true? Heard a rumor WT postphones Disfellowshipping until further notice!!??
by Olivia Wilde ini am not sure if it's true but i heard from a good source that wt has given instructions to elders to postponed disfellowshipping members from wrong doing/gross sin until further instructions given by headquarters.
i heard some jws were just reproved either privately or publically.
has anyone else heard anything like this recently?

I would welcome the move! But so far there seems little evidence. We get the memos sometimes before the elders. -

JWs have more good points than bad
by lsw1961 in1) many who were on the destructive path have been transformed by their teachings (this includes me who was once vicious, and presumptuous and atheistic).
2) equal monthly pay to all members of the bethel community regardless of whether they are bc members or sweepers.
this is something that still remains as an unattainable dream for the world.

There has been much said that was addressed many of the points and I will likely retread what others have said. Of course, I can only speak for myself, because we are all individuals.
I deeply care for Jehovah’s Witnesses and want them to achieve the best life possible. This is my drive or motivation. It has nothing to do with “attacking” or hating anyone.
In fact, I would direct you to quotes from your own publications. For instance, the 11/15/63 Watchtower, page 688: "It is not religious persecution for an informed person to expose publicly a certain religion as being false…”
Or the 11/22/74 Awake, page 28: “But ask yourself: Why did Jesus publicly criticize religious men who claimed to serve the same God he preached? Was his motive bad? Not at all . . . What, though, if you had lived then and Jesus' followers criticized the religion of your friends and relatives? As now, it would have been easy to take offense. Still, we cannot deny that the disciples' comments – critical though they were – were right, and they are included in God's Word. As with Jesus, the motive behind the criticism was good. So the disciples were being Christian – not unchristian – in pointing out religious error . . . Far from being rejected as unchristian, then, criticism based on God's Word should be carefully considered, for it can bring real benefits.”
Therefore, any criticism toward the beliefs and practices I or many others might give toward this organization is akin to what has been outlined in these quotes.
