Wolves in sheep clothing
by Israel Ricky Gonzales ini was baptized then i was 15 years old and just entering high school.
i had been a perfect jw teenager through out my high school years, although i craved to be a little bit worldly.
when i graduated high school, i moved out and got a job working with my older non-jw brother.

A far too common story. I can relate to it. -

Question about the fade
by The Big Machine ini know there are a lot of threads on here about fading and i've read a lot of them, but i have a question that i haven't found the answer to yet.. what would happen if you move to a new congregation (or at least tell your old congregation that you are moving and to have your records moved), and you don't go to any meetings?
i see lots of the fading strategies say to go to some meetings and show your face until your name is announced.
what exactly happens if you don't go to meetings in the new congregation?.

Be sure to attend the new hall until your records arrive. When they do, you can basically quit attending. -

Employment Rules in the Watchtower Organization.
by John Aquila ina jehovah witness teacher is allowed to teach nonreligious subjects in a school owned by a religious organization but,.
is not allowed to teach the same subject in a school funded or directed by the military..
since the watchtower views all religious organizations as part of babylon the great who had gods disfavor and would be destroyed at armageddon, no elder including some members of the gb could explain this policy of employment.isocf pg 401.

I mentioned 1980 since that was the year Ray Franz left the Governing Body. There has been no eyes and ears on the inside since that time, but for what Barbara Anderson has been able to shed light on about the early 90's.
Since 2000, with the restructuring, it is a huge black box. GB 2.0 seem less in charge than GB 1.0. At a circuit assembly, I remember Splane saying that Watchtower won't pick him up for the airport if he is not dressed in a suit.

At least up until 1980, rules were designed by committee and only overturned by a 2/3 majority. It led to all sorts of things that were not self-consistent. Malawi and Mexico is a good example. Or the ban on alternative service...which was wrong unless a judge sentenced you to it--but don't suggest that to him! -

Babylon the Great was the Sadducees & Pharisees
by FusionTheism inif you closely look at revelation, it may click in your head (like it just did in mine) that "mystery babylon the great, the great harlot" sounds an awful lot like the sadducees and pharisees who killed jesus and persecuted the apostles, and tried to suck up to rome.. .
paul spoke about a *jerusalem below* and a *jerusalem above,* in galatians.
jerusalem below are the freshly and evil jews and jerusalem above is the church made up of christian jews and gentiles, the seed of abraham in christ.. revelation also picks up on this theme by declaring there is a *new jerusalem,* while also declaring that the jerusalem below, which killed jesus, is called *sodom* and *egypt* in a symbolic way.

Yes, the pretesrist interpetation was that the city of ancient Jerusalem was Babylon the Great, and the Wild Beast was Rome, the seven heads being all the Ceasers starting with Julius and ending with Galba whose reign was a short while. And 666 was Nero.

What is the "sign" of "Christ's Invisible Presence?"
by Fisherman inthe wts teaches, that from 1914 onward, a sign has been evident, which is proof of god's kingdom.
jw profess to see that sign.
a "sign" means evidence from god.

Demoted from elder to MS, anybody ever heard of this?
by Naoscillator inso a friend in a nearby hall told me their co came through, and in a hellish week of long meetings and inquisition overhauled the boe.
only one remains as elder, three were re-appointed as ms, and one, the cobe was deleted entirely.. two new elders were brought in as new secretary and cobe / watchtower conductor, respectively, and introduced to the congregation from the platform on sunday immediately following his second talk.
he reminded everybody of the authority he has and then named the new appointees.

I do wonder as a congergation doesn't meet the monthly Kingdom Hall fund if the elders are called to task by the CO. -

And anti-aluminum…that was like the Devil’s metal, the cause of all sorts of maladies. But they were all for strapping on a radium belt to cure pneumonia, or using radio waves to diagnose and treat illnesses.
The Golden Age had an astounding amount of wackiness. There were several articles written denying Newton’s theory of gravity.
