Meetings
by OrangeBlossom indo you think the wts will ever reduce the number of meetings per week, maybe drop one night a week?
just curious!
it seems that everyone is so whipped from working all day, i really think that's why there is such a drop in meeting attendance.

The CO's visit
by OrangeBlossom inthis past week was the visit of our circuit overseer.
i know what you are thinking so before i post some of his comments that i personally found interesting, i only went to keep peace in the family and not give rise to suspicion about my true feelings.
so with that said, here are some things that grabbed my attention.. 1) his talk thursday nite was about being successful and how the world's view of success is far different than the organizations.

Question for any elder/recent ex-elder
by OrangeBlossom inthe elders keep dropping by every couple of saturday's after bookstudy to check on us and try to encourage us back to meetings.
it has worked out that my husband has been gone when they visit so they keep coming back hoping to catch him sometime.
anyway, i told my hubby that we should at least go to the meetings once a week to keep them off our trail, which i went this past thursday night and wouldn't you know it the one elder approached me and mentioned that they still want to sit down with us and go over an article on meeting attendance.

Kingdom Hall thinning out?
by OrangeBlossom ini was thinking about the post about japan closing about 300 congregations in the past 3 years.
i know that the hall i occasionally go to is usually less than half full compared to a few years ago.
my mom says that the elders in her hall are trying to come up with ways to get more to attend as attendance is really bad.

A funny thing happened at the book store
by OrangeBlossom ini recently ordered another copy of "in search of christian freedom" as i got rid of my first one (long story) and since it had been a couple of years since i read it, i decided to get another one.. since i live in a fairly small town, i decided to give a fake name, in case someone worked at the book store that might be a jw.
it was saturday morning (a time when all good little jw's should be in field service) so i felt it safe to go pick up my book.
i walk into the store and headed for the counter but was stopped in my tracks by an elder and his family.

you mentioned that your husband got custody or your children.
did you get them back after you left the borg?

When do you move on?
by OrangeBlossom ini was talking to my brother last night on the phone who walked away from the borg in the mid 1980's.
i asked him if he ever checked out any ex-witness sites.
his reply was basically, no, since he's moved on past his time served in the borg.

Brooklyn, are you listening?
by OrangeBlossom ini wonder if the gb ever check this board to get a grasp of how the rank & file (the hanger-oners like me) really feel about things or even curious as to why so many have left the organization.
there are many elders and ministerial servants that post here because they are so frustrated with what is going on.
i think that they would really like to see a change, a reform of some sort.

Update on elder's visit
by OrangeBlossom inlast saturday i posted that the elders keep coming by to "encourage" us.
but wouldn't you know it, sunday morning as i am trying to enjoy a nice breakfast with the family, the doorbell rang.
pissed me off, but this time the husband was home so i told him to go talk to them and tell them that being raised in the borg, we know what we should be doing and don't need them to tell us, which he did.
