Schopenhauer is definitely a person worth reading.
I've done research on the life of Wyatt Earp. There's much more to the story than the movie Tombstone.
i think jesus christ was the most influential person in history.
of course some people think he never really existed but everyone has an opinion.
who do you think made the most influence on you?.

do you think he could get reinstated as president?
do you think trump will run again for president or do you think he will just be a force for the republican party behind the scenes?.
I did a little research (very little) in the history of U.S. Presidents who were elected into office, voted out of office, and then re-elected back to office.
I give you President Grover Cleveland - both the 22nd and 24th President of the United States of America.

I am by no means a pro-Trump person or a MAGA follower. I do recognize that it is both possible and probable Donald J. Trump could be the 45th and 47th President of the United States of America. It has happened once before. It can happen again.
the universe came into being 13.8 billion years ago in the big bang.
after an initial flash, it went through a period known as the cosmic dark ages.
according to a new study, probing cosmic dawn, 250 to 350 million years after the big bang the first stars emerged bringing light to the cosmos.
Also, there may have been no beginning. See "Big Bounce Theory"
since about 2015, hollywood has congratulated itself and circle-jerked over the 'strong women' characters they've written.
i'd say this roughly began with rey in the force awakens (2015).
what hollywood forgets is that strong characters have to have a personality, otherwise audiences don't really relate to them.. well, hollywood should really stop patting themselves on the back as if they've done something special.. strong female characters have been a staple for decades.. here's one: private vasquez, from aliens (1986).
Princess Leia Organa - Leader of the Rebel Alliance.
i live with my parents in law and yesterday, my mother in-law was very nervous about an email she got from the brothers in her congregation.
it was asking if she would be able to receive people over at our house should there be a catastrophe.
so, she asked me if i would agree with this.
Get the labour for free then pressure the jw homeowner to donate the insurance money to the org.
There's a term for that - Insurance Fraud. People get sent to prison for it. In the U.S. most states have State agency that investigates and enforces it. If the money goes through the banking system it becomes bank fraud and the United States Attorney's Office Prosecutes it. Those cases are usually investigated by the FBI or U.S. Secret Service.
hello, my elder cousin from brazil wouldn’t believe they asked for rv’s here in the us.
i’ve been out for 20 years and i’m soft shunned by my family.
now my mom got sick and they are all trying to talk me into going back(no way on earth) and they keep on telling me how close armageddon is 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️ i was watching kim and mikey and they mentioned the rv’s for lodging the ramapo workers.
I would donate the same type of RV that Jesus and the Apostles used. Just like I would donate money to the same building projects Jesus and the Apostles built. Anything else would be improper.

Siddhartha Gautama
Born 563 BCE in northern India (Nepal) Gautama renounced his nobility around the age of 30 to seek the answer to why we suffer and how to end it. Gautama obtained enlightenment, thus becoming the first Buddha ("Enlighted One" or "Awakened One"). Gautama professed the 4 Noble Truths, the Noble Eightfold Path, and the Middle Way.
This all created the practice of Buddhism. Buddhism is not a religion, but perhaps the first psychologic study or psychoanalysis. As such, in the 20th and now 21st century, neuro-science and psychology studies are acknowledging Gautama's views on human brain function and thinking. We see medical science now advocating Mindfulness as a means to deal with stress, anxiety, hypertension, and other stress related medical issues.
As asked "Who is the most influential person in history to you?" I would say Gautama has influenced me tremendously. His teachings have greatly impacted my life and helped me reclaim my life.
yesterday or a few days ago a site started specifically for gen x -exjws.
it caters to those born in the 60s to around 70s and some 80s yesterday it had 2 members, today it has 102 members.
keep in mind that for most of these gen x, there was no internet, no mobile phone, heck, i don't think there was even cable tv.
District Convention are one of the few decent memories I have of growing up in the 80s and 90s as a born-in JW.
I remember my dad conning my siblings and I out of a McDonald's dinner by saying the "Muffin-Egg" breakfast sandwich at the Convention was a McDonald's Egg McMuffin. So technically we ate McDonald's that day. I didn't care. It was good! As was eating as many Ham and Cheese sandwiches or Hoagies I could get.
I remember my aunts and uncles giving my meal tickets to buy sodas and chocolate puddings as a treat.
I remember the only other kid in my school who was a JW being another congregation. We got to hang out at conventions and goof off.
I remember the dramas. I remember being bummed out when they stopped turning off the lights in the arena for prop changes.
My father was an elder and worked in different Convention departments. I used to go hang out with him. I remember one convention the baptism pool was off site. I got to go with him to film the baptism and interview people.
Then the GB took it all away. Then the Conventions became a chore. Then we started having to travel and shell out money to stay in hotels on the approved list or have to commute.
All the joy was sucked away.
1. when individuals leave the organization for conscience reasons, it is evidence that god is shepherding and protecting the flock by doing a sifting work.
when people leave another christian religion it is evidence that the religion is morally corrupt and unable or unwilling to provide spiritually for their members.. 2. when a christian from another denomination lies, he is acting according to his own disposition being from the father of the lie.
when a jehovah's witness lies, he is proving his loyalty to jehovah and fulfilling his sacred obligation to engage in spiritual warfare.. 3. during times of rapid growth the organization claims this is evidence of gods approval as he "speeds it up in his own time".
Jhine obviously never crossed paths with The Bishop.

Not so much due to concern about the welfare of the affected JWs. Rather, it was the loss of control. If a New Orleans JW was relocated to Texas, what meetings would he attend? How would the elders spy on, er, shepherd, them? What if a relocated JW discovers "hey, these 'worldly charities' are not foaming-at-the-mouth devil worshippers"? What if he needs to go to a hospital - how would the local HLC be there to enforce the blood prohibition? What if a few dozen, or a few hundred, fence-sitting JWs used this an opportunity to "fade" from the organization?
FFGhost for the win!
If you had to boil the Watchtower down to one, single point it would be this - control.
FFGhost is correct in his belief that if a large area was affected by a catastrophe the only way the Watchtower could continue to control Witnesses living there is to make sure they had provisions to stick together and hold out. Witnesses being forced to intermingle with non-Witnesses provides an opportunity for ultimate truth - personal experience.
Witnesses would come to see non-Witnesses are real people. The Watchtower narrative would fade away. This would cause Witnesses to begin to see things as they are, not as they are told, and begin to ask questions.
Stephanelaliberte - It could be World War III, the Zombie Apocalypse, and Sharknado 5: Global Swarming outside and the Watchtower would refuse to allow your residence as a safe shelter for the congregation. It would risk exposing those Witnesses to the truth about the Truth.
