If Captain Kirk was Adam then that is exactly how it would have played out. Haven't you seen Star Trek V: The Final Frontier?

Adam could have put Jehovah In Paradox!
by JohnTron72 ini'm going to be the first and throw this out there for others but, from careful study of the scriptures i've found a loophole that even adam who was perfect at the time missed!
i'm sure everyone has heard the conundrum about ,"can god create a rock he can't lift?
" and if he can't create one he can't lift, then god cannot do everything" well that doesn't really matter since we know jehovah says himself he cannot lie right?

Whether it was $500.00 or $5,000,000.00 is not the point. The real issue is that those poor window washers have to pay the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society for the loan to purchase that Kingdom Hall. Then a few years down the road a Circuit Overseer will tell them they have to build another one and sell the first one with 100% of the proceeds going to Watchtower.
This scheme mirrors the old literature scheme. Watchtower uses free labor to print a $0.05 magazine which they sell to a Witness for $0.50. That Witness then sells it to someone in the door-to-door ministry for $0.50 and donates that money to Watchtower. In the end, Watchtower receives $1.00 for its $0.05 investment.

Did You Know Any "Genuine"" Old School Anointed?
by Number 6 ingrowing up in scotland in the 1970s in scotland the anointed were few and far between, but we had one old dude in our cong who claimed to be one of the anointed.
in the days when it was taken seriously.. i'd be curious how you viewed them.
thing is, he wasn't an elder, or even a ministerial servant, just a plain old publisher.. but he was revered like he had a hotline to jesus.. the other week i was talking to a friend of similar age to me but who hung around the wt a lot longer than i did, and he just commented "oh him... he was a doddery old fool who used to just sit and piss himself.

My father professes to be of the annointed. Growing up he was initially put in charge of everything possible. Presiding Overseer. Book Study Conductor. Gave the Memorial talk every year, sometimes even for more than one congregation. Had parts on every assembly and convention.
Then we moved far away and he came under attack for it. He hasn't had any extended privileges in over 30 years. I thought for sure when the Watchtower changed its doctrine that only the Governing Body is the Faithful Slave that it would shake him. It has not.

Stupid armageddon false alarms
by purrpurr inwhen i was 5/6 i remember being in the car with my jw mom and a jw sister.
they noticed a yellow ish glowing cloud in the sky which really freaked them out and they both declared that it must be a sign that armageddon was here!
they then spent the whole car trip declaring that the police and army were about to come and round up all of us.

I grew up with a father who fell hook, line, and sinker for conspiracy theories.
Remember the whole George H. Bush "New World Order"? My dad got himself in hot water with the body of elders over telling everyone (and I mean everyone) that a one-world government was coming and the internment camps were already built.

Email from JW relative/elder
by Lynnie inas much as i enjoy you and pete's company, you also know our understanding of how much we want you to be reunited with jehovah and his people.. .
we did not set the standards for what jehovah says about our associations with those who choose to not serve him.
so we will always be there for you and pete, but it is in your hands as to how we can enjoy your friendship.. .

10 Immediately by night the brothers sent both Paul and Silas to Be·roeʹa. On arriving, they went into the synagogue of the Jews. 11 Now these were more noble-minded than those in Thes·sa·lo·niʹca, for they accepted the word with the greatest eagerness of mind, carefully examining the Scriptures daily to see whether these things were so. Acts 17:10, 11
The Apostle Paul penned these words. He declared the Beroeans as "more noble minded" for carefully examing Paul's teachings against what the scriptures state.
If the Beroeans were complemented and held in high esteem by an actual Apostle, personally sent by the resurrected Jesus himself, by verifying his teachings through independent study. Why can't Jehovah's Witnesses take the words of the Watchtower and its Governing Body to do the same thing? Were the Beroeans chastised or disfellowshipped by the congregation in Jerusalem for doing such thing? Who is more trusty worthy - an Apostle who is spirit anointed or 8 imperfect men who believe they are annointed?

I highly recommend seeing a licensed counselor/therapist. If there is no danger of physical harm (i.e. assaultive behavior, sickness induced by depression) then there is hope.
I would do nothing to try and steer her from the JW religion. She will only see that as an attack and an excuse to withdraw from you. Perhaps even secretly hoping you will leave and divorce her.
Rather, be supportive while doing your own thing, but also always willing to do non-religious things together. Work on being the best you as possible. Remember PIES -
Physically attractive
Intellectually attractive
Emotionally attractive
Spiritually attractive
That last one does not mean religion. It means you have a set of morals and ideals you believe in, but also practice.
If your wife feels safe in the fact that you are not doing anything to discourage her from being a JW she cannot use that as an excuse to withdraw from you. Reassure her that you respect her freewill to chose a religion and to practice it. Let her know that you do not want to do anything interfere.
If she wants to attend meetings ask her if she needs a ride. If she wants to attend a regional convention ask her how you can help her attend. Support her decision to be a Witness.
In the end, her own belief system demands she respect you. If you actively support her life and ministry she has no ground to stand on to separate or divorce. That leaves her with these options -
Be in a miserable marriage
Separating or divorcing you, but having to be single or risk being disfellowshipped
Be a happy JW with a happy marriage to a non-believer
Option 1 is directly tied to option 3. If she is making the choice to hamstring the marriage because she doesn't want to be married to a non-believer, let her do the dirty work and have the blood on her hands. Show her you can be happy without being a Witness. Let her learn the hard way that JWs break up happy marriages and families.
