Flawed Website
by pinkpizza inwhen i first seen this website i actually thought it was a jw website hence the home page and not an ex jw website and i posted a topic thinking people were real witnesses then i quickly discovered it was not and all these people were commenting and embarrassing me and i couldn’t even delete the thread.
then i asked the admin to delete it and i said it was very misleading saying it’s a jw page and he’s like are you serious i deleted your topic and now you are attacking me and it clearly says ex jw page.
he was very rude and btw no where does it say ex jw and you should be able to delete your own threads you start.

Must be the J-W.com version of a Twitter bot. What's next? "I'm a Nigerian Prince who needs help recovering millions of dollars"?

Who were the Picts?
by LoveUniHateExams inso, i've been reading a bit about the picts recently.. i'm not sure there's a consensus on exactly who they were or what type of language they spoke.. even their name - picts - has more than one explanation of where it came from.
i've read some scholars believe it comes from latin pictus (painted), referring to their supposed habit of painting themselves and/or tattooing themselves.
other scholars believe that the name pict comes from another source.

Robert E. Howard, author and creator of the Conan the Barbarian series, used the Picts a lot in his novels. I always wondered who they were.

An excerpt from my book (The Monorails of Mars) an allegory of the Watch Tower religion
by TerryWalstrom inexcerpt from my bookthe monorails of mars______ ______ ______.
military attaché geoffrey leonard interposed his body between the brit and the alien immediately in a formal manner of one who snaps to duty and attention when a high-ranking officer enters the room.. “forgive my manners mur-dok, this is jack clayton--“.
“ahh yes—of course—the kaliban exterminating brit who can get the lazy natives whipped into form!”.

Jehovah’s witnesses and having kids
by Addison0998 inin my area, a lot of young people don’t want to have kids.
they get married young from 18-22 years old, and think that they know how they’re going to feel the rest of their lives about having children, (which they think will be never).
i respect people who don’t want to have kids, there are good reasons not to, but i think it’s foolish at a young age to think you will never think differently for the rest of your life.

You can't have it both ways.
Do you believe that were a soooo close to "the end"? Is Armageddon "right around the corner"? If you truly have the faith, live that way.
Of course they won't live that way. Because they truly do not believe.
Sometimes it's alright to give up. However, if you're going to give up, do it all at once. Don't give up in small increments.

Xmas, love it or leave it??
by DATA-DOG ini have to say that i’m not enjoying the xmas season.
i have no emotional ties and i’m spending money that i have not set aside for xmas during a slow work season for my trade.. i’m not happy about it, because it’s foolish to spend money when you aren’t making any.
then i feel like i’m expected to do all this, and to be happy about spending money and time on persons that i’m not that involved with.

I love Christmas.
I buy my 2 boys a couple gifts each, my wife a gift, and 1 or 2 close friends. That's it.
Anything else is just a tree in the house and a lunch or two with co-workers. Maybe a happy hour after work one day.
Just having a tree in the house and watching my boys open their gifts is all I need to enjoy the season.

JW's will NOT like the first months of life in the Paradise! (University Research)
by fulltimestudent inhave you ever wondered (when you were an active believer) what life would be like immediately after the big a?.
in my experience of the pre-big a spiritual paradise most witnesses were aware of the problem posed by the dead bodies of those slain by the bloody minded, would-be mass murderer jesus.
most liked to quote the author of the revelation, that carrion birds would eat the carcasses.

Thank you for posting the story "After Armageddon. It has been nearly 9 years since I have read that story and I have been looking for it ever since. It is actually part of what helped me leave the organization.

No.
I never disassociated myself.
I was never disfellowshipped.
I was shunned simply because I rarely made meetings and was inactive in the ministry.
After 32 faithful years of service, 7 as a ministerial servant, with 7 years of auxiliary pioneering after high school, I was shunned as was my wife and children.
No love lost.
