  one of the slides showed a giant sequoia tree, approximately 5000 years old!.

  later another talk was about noah etc.

  There was no global flood. The scientific evidence is overwhelming. There was a local flood in the region of Turkey about the time the Biblical flood took place. This is probably what started all the flood myths, but good luck getting any Protestant denomination to believe it.

  lately that’s all i’ve been hearing about!

  i’m sick and tired of listening to white people begging for forgiveness simply because they are white.

  in a nearby town, a six year old girl asked her mom, “ why don’t we have a black lives matter march here?

  I have an honest question; as demographics change in the United States, will the term "privilege" be passed on to the next racial group? For example, ethnically or racially speaking, Asian American wealth will soon pass Caucasian Americans. Will we soon be hearing the term "Asian Privilege"? Right now whites make up about 76% of the U.S. population. By 2030 it will fall to 55%. By 2042 Hispanics will outnumber whites and be the majority. Will we hear the term "Brown Privilege"? Will there be a White Lives Matter protest every time a Hispanic police officer kills a white person? Who has the answers?

  As previously mentioned, there are claims of male privilege in the U.S. Statistically there are more men in American prison systems than women. How could this be? If blacks only make 13% of the U.S. population, but have a higher (but steadily declining) prison population vs whites due to "white privilege," why are there not more women in prison vs men due to male privilege?

  Officer Derek Chauvin of the Minneapolis Police Department is Homicidal police officer. Chauvin Murdered George Floyd in the streets of downtown Minneapolis in front of witnesses while knowingly being video recorded. Immediately the cry of systemic racism filled the streets of urban centers across the nation. Why? What evidence is there that Chauvin Murdered Floyd because of his skin color? Did Chauvin have a Klan outfit in his bedroom closet? Did Chauvin post racial slurs on social media? Has anyone provided one bit of evidence that Floyd's Murder is a hate crime as defined by statute?

  My studies of psychology brought me across something interesting - all thought, emotion, and behavior is learned. So, what happens when children in a particular community are taught by parents, family, and friends from birth that there is this big, scary, nameless, faceless group of people who are going to mistreat you because of your skin color? Simple - every time someone in this group is an asshole it must be because of skin color.

  All racists are assholes. Not all assholes are racists.

  the point of the letter was how many are feeling disappointed these days.. no circuit assembly, convention, how we can't fellowship at the k.h.

  disappointed we might have had a love one die, etc etc.

  he then goes on to write about how disappointed jehovah must have felt when his first human creation rebelled.

  You are not allowed to feel disappointment. That privilege belongs only to Jehovah, you good for nothing slaves.

  What's the saying? "Never let a good crisis go to waste"? Circuit Assemblies and Conventions have always been big money makers for the Watchtower.   i don't remember disfellowshippings happening very often and announcements about being re instated but i think i remember that we used to clap hands if someone came back after being disfellowshipped.

  but then i think clapping wasn't allowed.

  am i correct in my recollections?.

  Removing Historic Monuments and Statues - Does the Term "Historical" Make it Right or Wrong?

  after further review and thought, i really don't see how removing a monument or statue that may be truly offensive to a large group of people is in some way rewriting history.. i think of germany or other parts of europe.

  you don't see swastikas on buildings or statues of hitler or mussolini or other upper level generals in public.

  would it be good for a person (think jewish) to drive around a city and see hitler in a public park, even though it is "historical?

  Nancy Pelosi demands 11 statues involving Confederate States figures. 11. Eleven. Who knew there were so many? I know. Nancy Pelosi. Nancy has know for all 30 years she has been in congressional office.

  So, why now does Nancy call for their removal? Why not when Barack Obama was president and the Democrats also ran the House and the Senate? The answer is simple: Politics.

  Nancy doesn't care. Nancy is just being a politician.

  We have a nation obsessed with victim culture and driven by emotions rather than reason. Why are there statutes erected to honor the losers? Every Confederate hero is a traitor and domestic terrorist of the United States? Simple - victim culture. The South looked upon themselves as victims.

  Here are just some random thoughts -

  I am me. I didn't get to choose to be me. I didn't get to choose my parents and therefore I didn't get to choose:

  • My ethnic background
  • My place of birth or national origin
  • My native language or culture

  Most would say I am white. Since I haven't been given a choice by those who play the game because those who do insist I play, I am not white - I am Germanic American. The same group who, during WWII, had over 11,000 of their own imprisoned in American internment camps. Not as much as the 66,000 Japanese Americans, but more than the 3,000 Italian Americans.

  Those who play the game insist I have privilege because I am Germanic American meaning I do not have as much melanin as those deemed as non-white or "persons of color". Since I have been denied access to higher levels of melanin genetically I somehow automatically have an easier life. I somehow do not have to worry about police brutality, getting a job, getting an education, etc.

  I cannot change my skin color, so I assume this means my alleged privilege follows me wherever I go...or does it?

  If I were to move to Beijing, China would my white privilege follow me? In a nation of over a billion Chinese ethnic decent, most definitely not. Just ask those of African decent living in China...

  So, my alleged privilege is not because of my lack of melanin. My alleged privilege is due to the fact that I live in a part of the Earth where 76.5% of the other people who live here also have a melanin deficiency. 13.5% of the U.S. population have the most melanin and, as such, "feel" they are treated worse than the majority.

  I wonder what my privilege would look like in a part of the world where only 7.8% of the population has my same melanin deficency?

  Since the dawn of man's history mankind has mistreated his fellow man. Often this came in the form of war, which usually ended in land being seized and slaves taken by the victors. Often these wars were between different cultures and people of different ethnic backgrounds. I really don't know of a single ethnic group who didn't get involve in this. In fact, slavery is alive today:

  All forms of bigotry are ethically wrong. That includes racial or ethnic bigotry. However, I cannot think of any place on the Earth that people can live where in spite of racism (which is everywhere) you can live a great life other than the United States of America. If things are so rotten in the US why are so many people literally risking their lives to get here?

  The main problem is we have a culture of victimhood. Being a victim is very empowering and that becomes intoxicating. Martin Luther King Jr spent his life trying to get all people, from all backgrounds, to work together to make our nation great. Today, we have weak leaders who just say "You're wrong and privileged. You fix it!"

  The reason Black Lives Matter will fail is because it draws a line in the sand and excludes themselves from the problem solving. We live in a time that white people are suffering en mass, too. Not because they are white, but suffer the same. They face police brutality, but not because they are white. The face poverty, but not because they are white. They face being denied access to decent education, but not because they are white.
