I am certain it was a far, far greater memorial than anything that could be offered by a Witness elder at a Kingdom Hall.

Ex jw memorial
by lancelink inrecently a young person who was df'd died.
as you can imagine, there will be no talk at the hall.. well, enter some very courageous other young ex jw's who had their own memorial.. these people got together , and had a bonfire in memory of our friend.
and since we have hardly seen each other in over ten years, the conversation and tears flowed all night.. it just amazes me how all the parents of these grown up, normal young people think that ignoring their children is something that god approves of.

When All Else FAILS Protest and Cry When You Don’t Get Your Way

Protests are meaningless in the United States now. One of the chief reasons is, in recent times, there seems to be a protest every 2 seconds for everything under the sun. It's not like the 1960's with the civil rights movement or the anti-war movement in protest of America's involvement in Vietnam.
One of the main differences is that the protesters in those movements seemed to be educated on the issues and had a real plan of action. I find it depressing to see independent journalists interviewing current protesters only to expose the fact that current protesters have no idea of why they are protesting or what their end goal is.

My wife was not in the organization long. Maybe 2 years before we met. One of the reasons she got out (I'd say she did before I did) was, no matter what she did or how hard she tried, the organization always asked "Can you do more?" To her this was the organization constantly saying "You're best isn't good enough." -

I was in for over 30 years. I was the magazine servant for several of those towards the end of my time. This never happened the whole time I was in. 4 states and multiple congregations.

JW's Would Stay With The Org Even If 1914 Was Dropped
by pale.emperor ini asked the question on quora: .
if the governing body abandoned the 1914 teaching, would you leave jehovah's witnesses or you would remain a member regardless?.

Isn't ironic?
The question posed to believers asking if they would remain faithful to their religion if their religious leaders changed a core belief with the following general response -
"I love being part of a religion that admits when it's wrong and changes it's beliefs, which it has done many times."
How can anyone refer to their religion as "The Truth" when literally every belief may be wrong and could change at anytime?
Perhaps Witnesses should replace the term "The Truth" to "Blind Obedience."

8 years ago, when I first came to this site, there was a post that contained a well written story of what a former Witness thought life would be like in the "New System". First, I think the conjecture was horrifyingly accurate. Second, that conjecture was so depressing that I can honestly say life as a Witness in the New System would be a life of suffering that goes far beyond life currently.

It was brutal to be dragged out in field service as a child. It's cruel to the child and sometime places the child in danger.

Ideas on covering id online?
by Ray Frankz inguys, ive wanted for long to start to express my thoughts about what i learned about the org and the bible altogether but i'm a pimo.
what suggestions do you have for me?
i don't want to "get caught" for sharing "apostasy" and i think running a page on facebook or instagram is too easy for anyone to track me down.

It wouldn't be hard to do if you're careful.
Open up a web based e-mail account just for opening your social media accounts.
Use an assumed name for your accounts.
Make sure you turn off all geo-tagging options on social media accounts.
Prior to posting anything ask yourself "Is there anything in the content of this post that would lead someone I know to believe that I posted this?"
Things like IP addresses are not available to the general public and are only available to law enforcement when the obtain a search warrant.

Romans 13:1-7 states that Jehovah gives us the earthly authorities as a minister to us and that Jehovah gives those authorities a sword to use. When the authorities use that sword it is Jehovah's will.
The courts are part of the earthly authorities.
A Witness can claim the "media" is controlled by Satan, but Satan does not control the courts according to Romans 13:1-7. To dispute this is to say the Bible contradicts itself.

EU Court Ruling Against WT on Data-Protection
by cofty intoday's london times reports on the july ruling of the eu court that forces the organisation country to comply with data protection.. the action originated in finland but the ruling will affect every eu country.
the cult tried unsuccessfully to argue that the notes taken by jws in the door-to-door work were personal and not accessed by the congregation.
the court ruled that they are acting under the auspices of the congregation and therefore they must comply with data-protection laws.. keeping lists of do-not-calls also falls under this ruling.. why does the cult always feel that it is above the law?.

A hand written note by a "publisher of the good news" is an official document. The "publisher" is the official custodian of record of said document. Individual "publishers" would legally be considered agents of their local congregations and therefor agents of their international organization.
I can't tell you how many times I went out in the ministry an we ended up working the "not-at-homes" for the morning/afternoon/evening. The territory card holder would hand each pair of publishers a sheet of not-at-homes to work. Therefor the information is being shared, even if internally.
Looking back at this it gives me the creeps. I had 2 state prisons who's inmate population was considered part of the congregation's territory. There were about 50 inmates that were considered publishers and part of our congregation. When they would parole they were often welcomed with open arms right into our meetings. Those "not-at-home" records would make perfect "Burglarize these Homes" lists.
