Anyone remember Ron Soliday?

there are very few circuit overseers that i remember from my childhood, however i remember ron soliday basically because of a talk he gave in kentucky back in the early 1980's.

in this talk he basically painted a grim picture of what the year 2000 held in store for earth and went on and on about how scientists predicted this catastrophe and that, but in the end he stated "thankfully the new system should be here by then" just something i thought i would share with you all.

Inner peace at last!

i am passing this on to you because it has definitely worked for me...and as we start summer we all could use a little calm.. by following the simple advice i read in an article, i have finally found inner peace.

the article read:.

"the way to achieve inner peace is to finish all the things you've started".

What First Stumbled You?

what was the very first thing that "stumbled" you?

mine was: i was about 5 or 6 years old and of course i used to find it really hard to find things in my bible at meetings (couldn't find the books quick enough before they moved onto the next paragraph and used to get frustrated).

i had the idea to make little tabs for the edges of the pages so i could tell where the books were - so i asked mum to help me neatly write out the book names on tiny slips of paper and tape them inside.

I have so many stories, and as I read this post, it doesn't matter telling them.

My son came over yesterday, the ms who is the fireman, when I put him through college to do what he wanted to do was shunned, now that he is a paramedic/fireman he is stink on skunk with the congregation.

He brought me the June 1st watchtower, told me to read " Do your cirmunstances control your LIFE?' article, what a bunch of crap and mind control that is. He loves me dearly and the feeling is mutual.

I wanted to puke, and he thought he was helping me and my inactivenes.

I am out because of the crap they write, the last page of the watchtower was " To do or not do to others"..anyone read this? made me want to throw up.

Ok, shunning is ok... But we have to do unto to others and we are ok...but it is not nice to us when others slam the door in our faces because we are good...ok I am rambling...but I am upset, haven't read a watchtower in a while, now I see it with new eyes.

I was a whole souled, dogmatic witness, and this is the third year I wasn't invited to their big 'ol party at the lake thingy, and believe me the elders who weren't invited will have a meeting about the ones who went. It's only a matter of time for my son, his wife who is every mom in laws dream is another story.

I love my son...but pleezee someone help me.

how much did you give up?

i completely lost it and could not keep the tears back and my throat choked with grattitude to these men and my country.

i had missed feeling patriotic soooo much!

pasted from another thread...but got me thinking, how much did you stop doing as a jw, not because you really believed it but because you could not do it and still be a jw?

I am so envious of you traveling the country. I was just telling my son and daughter in law that is what I want to do before I die, they told me do it, they will stay in my house and if I die on the road they will see to it I get a decent funeral.

Have a great trip, and I am glad you are meeting so many great people. < envious sigh >

My daughter was just in an accident

i just had a call a couple of hours ago from my ex.

she said my youngest daugher was in a bad car accident.

i asked her what happened, and told me that she was just pulling out from the drive way, and made a left turn.
