i was a 3rd generation witness on both sides of the family.
even my great-grandomthers were considered witnesses, but i don't know if they were baptized.
my parents however were always considered weak and still are even though my mom has become more involved & for longer periods of time in the last 15 yrs.
Very fanatical.
They joined in the 50s. I remember all the stories about many frineds , including our godparents, who fell away over the years and were never contacted again. That must nurture a bridge burning mentality. I even remeber getting locked out of the house on Sunday morning, and them driving away, because I said I didn't want to go to the meeting. I was five years old! They did come back for me though. Too strong.

i remember some study conductors who had the habit of calling on people in the audience that seemed distracted or unprepared--on purpose so as to embarass them.
some were so out of it when the mic was handed to them they had to ask what was the question, why did you call on me i didnt have my hand up, etc.
talks... I remeber at 10 years old having to give that bible reading inSong of Solomon, you know, the one about the 'breasts like towers' and all that jazz. Man!
And remeber the other ones about crushing testicles. Man!

ya, my firends' dad stopped his sunday talk in the middle, said "excuse me brothers", walked off the stage and slapped his two boys in the face (for talking), then got back up and resumed the hour talk.
i grew up in a coastal community.
in doing such, i had a very good understanding on the growth of mildew.
well in area of high humidity, it is very common to get mildew growing on just about anything.

anyone see the history channel ancient mysterys...who wrote the bible?...was quite interesting..talked about doublets..how the same storys were written differantly but about the same thing..like....noah being told to bring 2 of every animal...then later 7 of every clean animal 2 of the unclean....so which was it?......and how dod moses write about his death if he was alive?...
my fav part was when they were talking bout these doublets and were breaking them into groups showing how there were upto 3 authors of these books..each outher refered to god by diff name....one was lord or yahweh..which would be represented by the letter j..they went on to explain that this was because the english doing the research were ignorant and translated yahweh as jehovah whe that was impossable but was something that stuck and didn't change.... interesting stufff....lol
