i was born-in but am only in by a thread at this point.

i quit the tms a few weeks ago and wrote a post on it.

I would also think that since your son is old enough to think for himself, you should lay some TTATT on him. Wife won't let you talk to him alone? E-mail him. No e-mail? Print something out and leave it in his room for him to find.

Start with something small and that appeals to a young person like the thing about Job's family celebrating Birthdays and how the Society deliberately covered it up in the 2013 revision of the NWT.

i'm in contact with service and writing and brochure first step there bleeding publishers they can't take it anymore publishers are depressed because they feel they must shun others and they know it's unloving.

Has anyone actually seen this brochure? Can anyone provide a copy of the file?

I agree with wifibandit. I'm not accusing anyone of lying, but I'm viewing this the same as I view God. I'll believe that this brochure exists when at the very least a screenshot of it appears.

a friend of mine recently had his co visit and in the elders meeting the co out-right asked the question: how are the friends doing in your cong.

as regards pursuing higher education?

the co continued...you know in view of all the counsel from the slave regarding the dangers.

where are they located in the model listed in that scrtipture?

Here's how my elder dad would probably explain this: "Well, son, Paul wrote that to anointed Christians. So, the head of each anointed Christian is the Christ. But, we're not anointed, so we have the Faithful Slave to take care of us."

This is why I have never had a TTATT conversation with my dad. There's always some justification and the GB is never wrong.

Memorial on Good Friday?

just found out the memorial is this coming friday, which is good friday, don't recall that happening before, or has it?.

just seems strange that the dubs would celebrate their only special day on the same day that christendom celebrates as well..

sir82 is right. The memorial moves around depending on the year. Sometimes it coincides with Good Friday, sometimes it doesn't. But it's been more than 10 years since the memorial has been held on a Friday evening.

Technically, though, as the Jewish day begins in the evening, the days the memorial truly coincides with Good Friday are when it is held on Thursday. The evening of Good Friday is already technically Saturday by the Jewish calendar.

i've been looking on this site for some time but never posted.

i'll give a little about myself, but not too much.

i'm a ex-bethelite ( brooklyn )and currently serving as an elder (10 years) (thinking about stepping down) on the service committee.

I think there are areas that are like what MrTheo describes. Austin, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Portland, Seattle.

I live in a state that is a bastion for conservatism, and I truly believe that an environment like that makes people more religious and makes the JWs more intense in their beliefs.

I would venture to guess that Magnum lives in a more conservative area of the country and that MrTheocratic lives in a predominantly liberal part of the country.
