Hoping I can stay

i started studying with witnesses about 21 months ago.

started going to meetings in march 2017, went to the memorial and attended my first convention.

i love it.

my question is can you as a jw live on same premises as a non jw.... in split house/property with no sexual relations or anything involved... i am being forced to move due to a "sister" wanting to go back to her god and has made the point of saying she cannot have a male around.

even though the property itself is split with seperate access for both parts of the house.. she has put a blanket rule out saying the whole property itself... doesnt make sense to me nor to any of the elders i have spoken to regarding the matter.. yes i called them as i know next to nothing about the faith.. .

i find it strange that two elders urge a non jw to seek justice from fair trading and rental tribunal as they themselves do not belive the actions of the "sister" in question or her family to be correct or right... .

My first apartment at 18years old and a pioneer jw was a large old house converted into apartments. One common entrance and hall and stairway. I had 2 rooms and a bathroom. College girls across the hall.

No problem with any Jw.

Jw meeting locator

i was born in and a jw for about 40 years, most of it in the same state.

im getting ready to move about an hour away and typed in my possible new zip code to the meeting locator to see who of my past contacts i will possibly run into.. when the locator gives you the list of nearest congos, is congo "a" the one that your address would be "assigned" to?

Still shows the same location in the same order for me.

Almost done with step one of the move. Took a few days off work to finish up.

Amazing how much healthier, happier, wealthier i am since leaving the org and a bad marriage. This move is adding to it too. Kind of feels good knowing i probably wont even see anyone from this congo anymore. Small town, i see them at the post office with the cart every Saturday - changed when i get my mail. Pass someone in traffic - get this awefull ugh feeling. Drive by the hall or someone's house and ask myself why i waited so long to leave. All the constant reminders wil be gone. Chapter closed, no, book closed. Next.

Dietary Quirks Among JWs

i recently had to accompany an older family member out of state to a family reunion.

it was a big reunion and not much was overtly made of the fact that i am "misguided" and not attending meetings (lost soul that i am) which was nice.

the thing i noticed that i was most struck by was all the dietary quirks in evidence during our 3 days together.

Mid 90s i was hosting the co and wife for midweek lunch. Got the 'special' diet list of the wife. Not only was it a special diet it listed what she wanted for lunch each day. I made exactly what she wanted. Co, wife, one elder and his wife show up for lunch. Co wife walks in a declares she doesnt want what was on the list, but changed her mind and wanted something else - that was on her unable to eat list!!!!!!!

Elders wife and i are in the kitchen, she can clearly see the WTF look on my face. Spent hours shopping for and preparing exactly what she wanted and she changed her mind that morning. Elders wife told me, dont worry, it happens all the time, I'll make her something else....

Grounds for divorce and other questions

since i no longer have any of of the watchtower bible and truck society publications.

1. was it true (and believe it was) that in the nineteen sixties that even if one of the marriage mates was a homosexual that this was not concerned grounds for divorce?.

Phsical abuse is grounds for seperation on paper only.

Seperate from your wife because she was violent (police called and charges pressed and convicted) and you will be taken in the back room and told how wrong your separation is.

Seperate a second time from your violent wife because you feared for you life and locked yourself in the garage and she busted thru the door with a 10lb sledge hammer because she was 'going to make you see things my way' and you will get called into the back room with the violent person you are seperated from and told how wrong you are for seperating and how you make her behave violently and 'what is your problem '

Sure, on paper violence is grounds for separation but get the local elders to remember that.

Looking back, i guess it work out ok for me. I left the org, filed for divorce. She made all kinds of accusations to anyone who would listen. Brought her new boyfriend to the next CA even before the divorce was complete. 3 months after the divorce was remarried and df'd. IDK why but can probably assume its the getting remarried without being scripturally free to remary - adultry. So now im free to remarry both legally and (not that it matters) scripturally.
