  My darn dog died

  i've had this cowdog for nearly 11 years now.

  today she went out in the sun and got heatstroke and just didn't recover.

  i gave her cpr and brought her back twice but she was too far gone.

  I am so sorry to hear this. When we said goodbye to our Jake a few years ago, we received a card from the Vet, with these words:

  ... Grieve not,
  nor speak of me with tears,
  but laugh and talk of me
  as if I were beside you...
  I loved you so --
  'twas Heaven here with you.

  I made a webpage for Jake and I have these words from "The Dance" posted also:

  the person can be living or dead, the same sex gender as you or the opposite, real or a character from a movie, play, book, etc.

  i think i'd go with sherlock holmes (attention to detail and analytical ability) or captain nemo (freedom to explore).. incidentally sherlock holmes is based on a real person.

  I finished my novel.

  well, my mother will find about 10,000 edits because that used to be her job, but i'm done.. took longer than i want to talk about, but 91,000 words are a mouthful.

  i'm going to take a deep breath then go look for an agent.

  for those of you who don't know, its based very loosely on my years as a dub.. .

  * to serve and worship our creator, the only true god, jehovah, is the ultimate honour, more valuable and precious than all the money and possessions, status, etc in the world.

  Oh my, can you believe we ever fell for that stuff?

  * We are healthier on average than non-Witnesses because we follow Jehovah's laws on how to think positively, how to feel i.e. stay calm hence avoid high blood pressure and heart attacks through stress and anger, how to protect ourselves from diseases (std's and smoking-related for example) and more

  I'm sorry, but the JW's I knew were just human beings like everyone else. I knew a few that were closet smokers and alcoholics. There were gossipers and hypocrites, too. Why do they always condemn the rest of the world but fail to see their own faults?!

  My wonderful mother

  today is the day my mother was born.

  she passed away 1 year and 6 days ago.

  i guess i need some friends.

  I am so sorry to hear about your losses. Hang in there and know you have friends here who will listen. I lost my Mom when I was 29 and she was only 48. The pain can be overwhelming at times. If you ever need a friend, feel free to email me.

  My daughter will....

  my daughter is 5 today.

  i was raised a jw but left long before she was born.

  as i was getting ready for her party i started thinking...she'll be starting kindergarden soon and her life will be so different from mine.. she will............. 1) be able to participate in holiday celebrations.

  Isn't is great, Dawn? I left long before I had my daughter (7 years-old, now). Once in awhile I find myself thinking about how different my life would be had I not left! How different her life would have been! Scary thoughts!

  From Intercourse to Paradise...

  ...with stops along the way in bird-in-hand and lancaster.. that's right.

  today, i, my wife and my mother-in-law loaded ourselves into the car and drove down to pennsylvania dutch country, where we visited the towns of intercourse, paradise, and the others i mentioned.

  we went to the mennonite information center, where we heard a lecture about the israelite tabernacle in the wilderness, enhanced by viewing an actual size model of the tabernacle.
