I get what you're saying Stan. Bible verses were used as control levers against us. Who we made friends with, who we married, how hard we worked for the cult, whether we sacrificed careers or shunned friends or family.

All of these abuses and more were justified by one scripture or another. I'm too old and thick skinned to be 'triggered' by posts like Kosonen's but yeah, I can see how they'd have a negative impact on some.

I just find it inane now.

Goodbye Mother

so my mother passed on 20 aug 23 from the big c. i was there when she went.

that was indeed very traumatic.

i won't go to describe it.. dad went 17 years ago so there's just me now.

Sign of the Last Days

in the sermon on the mount, jesus foretold that earthquakes “in one place after another” would be part of the sign of the last days clímaxing in the great tribulation.. what could jesus possibly have meant?

using a phone app nowadays, there are earthquakes detected in one place after another but is this what jesus meant and did they have so many earthquakes throughout the centuries affter his prophecy or are these modern day detected earthquakes unique to this epoch?

how can we be sure unequivocally that modern day earthquakes are part of the sign fulfilling bible prophecy?.

Every prophecy ever made about the end of the world has failed. Every, single one. Whatever Christian, Judaic or Islamic sect you care to mention, they have consistently gotten it 100% wrong.

The Mayans too and no doubt countless other shamen, mullahs and holy men.

Wrong, wrong, wrong. But don't panic! We have posters here on our very own JWN who are going to enlighten us with the truth. All it will cost you is your critical thinking skills and reasoning ability.
