I am a bit surprised to see what appears to be current and in-good-standing circuit overseers putting their resumes on LinkedIn

Do you know any of these, and are they legit?

thank you, everybody here, for introducing me to this.
no, no i had not heard of this.
child abuse issues have been roundly dismissed as apostate attacks in the congregations i've attended in the last decade.
Bowditch comes across as so stupid that it would be laughable if it were not so serious. To think that a dimwit like him would be on a judicial committee regarding abuse victims is a travesty.
thank you, everybody here, for introducing me to this.

Watching the video brought something to mind that I hadn't thought of before. The WT has set up a trial system in effect, which investigates, receives testimony, and administers justice. Maybe that's permissible for internal church matters, but when the subject is something illegal under the laws of the country, the WT trial system acts outside the law. Especially when a victim continues to suffer and does not receive redress, the matter should go directly to the real courts. The WT judicial system doesn't meet the rigors of the courts, as the elders have no training in the law. They have no business passing judgment on legal matters.
i don't know where to ask, but this section is probably better than both the medical section and the entertainment section.
:) .
does anyone know what eventually happened to the standfasters?
The video is quite interesting. Very few things I would question. One is that he said that P.S.L. Johnson was a former WT board member, which I think is inaccurate.
I remember reading that there was a subgroup of the Standfasters that created a compound/retreat in the northwest (I think it was in BC). A bit like the Shakers in the early US, but I don't think it lasted more than a few years.

Kudos to schnell for posting this. Thanks
well, round my way (south of the uk) all the way up to and including the regional conventions this summer, baptism numbers have been extremely low.
but i have just received news of three recent circuit assembly days where the figures seem to be higher.
(all have been across the last three weekends at a uk assembly hall in october).
The ratio of baptisms to attendees at a convention is an interesting metric. One nice thing about it is that both numbers are known accurately and announced at every convention. The figures from the OP are between 0.6% and 0.8% of the attendees. I would hesitate to call it a bounce back, although we recently have seen figures as low as 0.1% to 0.5%. However, as OneGen mentioned in his post, the ratio back in the day was often as high as 2% to 2.5%.
i never knew that the famous new england theologian jonathan edwards spent some years as a missionary to the red indian tribes.
there are various modern ideas as to how one should preach to those completely ignorant of christ and the way of salvation, but edwards had confidence that the gospel is the power of god unto salvation for all people.
perhaps someday those still living in pagan lands will accept christ and share in the blessings of america.
Is this a tongue in cheek joke? there are two.
i need maybe 2-5 dozen copies of any edition of the watchtower or awake!
magazines to distribute to family, friends, and neighbors.
any reasonable condition.
Sorry, I just threw out my garbage.
