I thought JWs can take blood fractions. Do the R&F know the rules?

do you tell doc ur father doesn't want blood
by cobweb inhere's a hypothetical: you find your elderly jw father - a lifelong witness, unconscious in his home - you are alone with him.
you ring an ambulance.
at the hospital the doc says they need to give him a blood transfusion straight away or he'll die.

I have a real situation - similar but with a few additional details.
At an end of life situation, after my father had kidney dialysis for a few weeks, it was clear that my father's blood count was at a level where he would require a blood transfusion. He was not in a position to make his own medical decisions, Thus, I initiated a no-blood decision.
I did not see how blood would extend his life. From my position, I thought my decision was the right thing to do. He died shortly after, but not because of my decision to support his no-blood stance.

But it is such a privilege to be a cart captain. Only a select few spiritually worthy brothers and sisters are able to work the cart. That is worth any potential humiliation.

Does the Bible Teach...?
by Vanderhoven7 inquestions to ask witnesses.
1. does the bible teach when the great crowd of revelation 7 started forming?.
the watchtower had expressed the hope that a convention scheduled for may 30 to june 3, 1935, in washington, d.c., u.s.a., would be “a real comfort and benefit” to those pictured by jehonadab.

This is my point. The bible does not speculate. It can't because it is simply a book. Religions, such as the JWs, use the bible to justify their own speculation. So, don't blame the bible - in fact the bible has no relevance to the speculation.

"Does the Bible Teach" is an example of an anthropomorphism. The bible is simply a book and has no ability to do anything other than to sit on a shelf.
What you really mean is do individuals use the bible to justify their position about..(fill in the blank)...

Happy Thanksgiving 2017
by EverApostate inonce upon a time, as a jw, i was afraid to buy turkey during thanksgiving time.
while attending the thursday night ministry school meeting (on thanksgiving day), i was cautious not to mention the word thanksgiving, for fear of bringing reproach to bigj.. now, free at last, my happy thanksgiving wishes to everyone who celebrate this holiday..

Happy Thanksgiving.
I always enjoy a turkey on Thanksgiving. This was one holiday that my family never missed - even as a JW. While we did not call it a holiday, the turkey on our table was just as tasty as what was on the table of a pagan.

Are Beards becoming more acceptable due to decline in membership?
by UnshackleTheChains ini noticed a young brother with a beard being given more privelages within our hall.
when he first grew his beard, he lost his privelages.
but more and more recently he has been helping out a lot more.. the cobe is old school and a stickler for rules, but with the hall becoming more empty these days, and the need for young brothers, he seems to have relaxed on this particular watchtower/man made rule.

Beards? I just realized that I don't give a shit.
Wow! This is exactly how I feel.

1975... the year that keeps on giving.
by silentbuddha inso i recently moved back to my really really really small hometown in the south.
it was the place that my parents moved to from a major city up north in the early 1970's.
when we lived here times were very tough financially and i was always told that the reason we did not attend meetings was due to the fact that we had no car / no gas for the car / could not afford repairs for the years we were there.
