  Window Cleaners?

  like a lot of others here, i gave higher education a miss when i left school (1980).

  under the encouragement of the society i pioneered for three years instead!.

  now i clean windows for a living.

  I had a 3rd cousin that wore a beard - back in the early 90s. He may still have the beard, but I have lost touch with him.

  The beard was a topic of conversation within the congregation and elders, But he did not have a position and didn't want one, so the elders had no control over him. I think they were just happy to see him attend an occasional meeting.

  so it's not enough that i'm dealing with post traumatic stress/anxiety and panic attacks all related to my life as a jw (50 years baptized -- i stopped going a couple of months ago) at 3 a.m. i get an email from the other side of the world.

  'you have to go to the convention.

  It is hard to admit that people, who you thought loved you, actually lied to you your whole life.

  The world is a scary place, Some things are not going well. However, none of this has anything to do with the interpretation of the Watchtower.

  I was seated in that stadium, overflowing all the way to the floor. All seats filled. I was seated with an old style cassette recorder on my lap. I was wearing tacky polyester pants. I like to tape talks. I wish I knew where I had saved them (They would fetch a small fortune today.).

  Wow! I had never heard that type of reasoning to shorten the time between Adam's creation and Eve's creation before. Thanks for posting that. It sounds just like the kind of thing Fred Franz would say.

  one thing over the years social media has made me painfully aware of is how many times i see someone use the phrase "i'll pray for you" and the outcome is bad.

  recently a friend of mine who at one time was my manager where i worked got cancer.

  a lot of people were praying for him.

  I was an MS for 10+ years and an elder for 3. In all those years I never once conducted the Watchtower.

  If an MS was to conduct, I suspect it would be because of extremely unusual circumstances. I would also suspect that the MS that conducted the Watchtower would be a major arse-kisser.
