i don't know what the current definitive rule is that determines whether someone is viewed as an "active publisher" or not.
i've seen comments suggesting that it is reporting a certain minimum number of hours per month which seems reasonable.. what is interesting is how they change the definition of what an active publisher is based on the context.
normally, you are never doing enough, however much you are doing, and too little or some missed reporting will get you a talking to.. but note how they class 'active' in one of the latest body of elders letters:.
That seems fairly relaxed doesn't it? Pop a field service report entry in for an hour once every six months and you are an "active publisher"!
If you want to drive everyone crazy drop in a field service report for an hour - every 7 months. You have just created additional work for the Secretary - and they hate that.

the public talk on sunday was about evolution.. my son pointed out flaws in the speakers arguments during and after the meeting... mostly about how animals aren't able to communicate etc.
he even brought up coco the ape that is able to communicate via sign.. i told him that i heard a ton of inconsistencies but i am afraid to say anything because your mom will get angry :).
im glad he is paying attention.. and the school system must be doing something right..

the writers argue that genetics, the environment, and sexual abuse do not justify homosexuality.
the bible clearly states that homosexuality is wrong and is an abhorrent sin.
What a dynamic thread. I liked the phrase of "praying the gay away." Not that I think that will help, it is just a great phrase - highly offensive, but still very creative.
As I was making my exit from the JW religion and religion in general one of my problems related to the fact that there really are gay people. We had a young man in our congregation that was gay - he just was and everyone knew it. But he loved god and also loved what we knew as the "truth."
I could never figure out how god would allow this young man to deal with this conflicting reality. In the end I escaped from the religion, and so did he. We have become great friends So I guess there was a happy ending.

and its beginning, as was predicted, to fail miserably, and to have direct negative consequences on the poor sheep.. let me give you a little experience, directly from our congregation of about 80 publishers.
back in may, after reading the letter about the "new" arrangement, the elder body decided to "donate" the extra funds on hand to wt, as directed.
Our hall of 75 pubs the donations have gone down significantly, from over $5000 in the bank back in May to just under $1000 now. Our super Elders and MS are too consumed with Pioneering, none of them have been contributing( I know because I am the Account Servant). 3 old Sisters have been carrying the congregation for years, but even they have slacked off.
It is amazing how much you learn as an account servant. I knew that our congregation donations depended on 3 or 4 people. The vast majority, including elders (and me) contributed nothing.

it has been downloaded at least 30 times with no virus issues.
the file is from 1905 to 2015 updated, and includes all the elder manuals from 1961 to 2010 at the bottom of the bookmarks.
been hearing this from various people from the cong that jw.org is a clear sign that god is directing the org.. i have various friends in the it dept not only in brooklyn but mexico and colombia, just a fact there is 5 to 6 it dept all over the world that give support to jworgie 24/7... so i have ask them how they came up with the website wich is not the best but not the worst by far.
all four of them told me the same story, there is a brother in florida that is profesor of some kind computer class and as project he made them work on the website so students of these college helped launch this site.. so more like jah backing it has more like satan backing...
after a one year gestation period, as well as an extended labor, i am finally happy to announce the birth of my latest book: escape from paradise.. cigars all around!

oh! you be so bad. If only you were the exception. But as we all know, what you did is pretty close to what most of the r&f did.

I was the account servant for many - many years. I am also a CPA and an accounting professor. So, I know budgeting and the many problems associated with budget management. Part of me would love to be a part of the financial inner circle to understand what is going on. But that would mean that I would have to shave my beard and go back to the meetings, which will not happen.
What you describe get to the core problem with this arrangement. I suspected all along that this new system would fail. I love these stories, keep them coming.
