One of my JW friends asked me to save the file to a disk for her so she could have them printed up for her friends, and my mother. She is a little bit computer challenged. So she emailed it to me. It is 197 pages. She took it to Kinkos to be printed up to save her own ink. I believe it cost $8.00 to be made into a booklet with a spiral binding. I have sent this to a few of you and will be glad to keep sending. Just PM your email.

"Family day" Is this a new jdub thing?
by cultswatter ini know of jws that celebrate "family day" at this time of year.
i have asked these jw about where they got the term "family day" was it from the watchtower?
they seem to deny the watchtower had ever mentioned "family day", but i can sense they are trying to hide something here.

so do JW's really think non witnesses only give and receive presents at Christmas and birthdays? That's ridiculous. I can't recall if I actually ever believed that. I remember saying it though.

then along comes the co visit (the first since you've stopped attending).

When well meaning friends and elders (and one teenaged girl) would try to get me to go to meetings, I told them almost exactly what has been suggested. I said "I am going through some bad times in my head, and I am also working an awful lot. I just need some time to get things worked out. I will let you know when I need help, okay? For now, I just can't deal with this."
It worked. No one came by for a few more years!!!

Did anyone ever rebel to play school sports
by Billzfan23 inhow many of you who grew up in the truth truly loved a sport and fought hard against your jw parents to get to play it?
post your experience here.
my determination to play come hell or high water led to my mother turning me over to the state as a youngster, which then lead to foster care and freedom until i foolishly came back to the borg as an adult.

Our second son is a terrific athlete. When he was in high school, he was 6'4" and wanted to play sports so badly that he did it anyway. When he was a senior, he was 18 so just signed up for football. We were upset, but went to every football game he played in. We have great pictures too. It was 1983.
Now he coaches his own son's softball team, and played on one himself for years. I still get a bit heartsick when I think of how badly he wanted to be in little league. He would go to the neighborhood elementary school on weekends and watch the kids playing. One of the coaches let him play soccer, and he called us begging us to let Steve play for their team, and said he was the best goalie he had ever coached. Poor kid.

We knew lots of JW's who did that. The first time I heard of it was back in the late 70's. One of my friends had a large fig tree house plant and put the presents under that. Hilarious.
We started doing it on our anniversary, and had gifts for all the kids and a special dinner. Our anniversary is December 29, so it was very timely.

When I was in school, back in the Pleistocene Era, JW kids played sports. A very prominent elder in Oregon, was at my high school. He was a basketball star and participated in baseball and track too. Another guy, who is also an elder in this area was not only on the track team, he was a cheerleader at his high school. His girlfriend, also a JW, was the Senior Class President.
I was on the Bowling Team. Hahhahahha. Now, that really sounds nerdy doesn't it?

Guess what happened with the new CO?
by MinisterAmos ini'm not particularly fond of the way that the bros fawn over the ranking members when they visit.
after all, there is no rank in the jws right?
that's what they say anyway.. so i rebel and don't go at all when the co or do come to visit.
