as i was reading the sparlock article, i couldn't help but notice something seriously wrong:.
"the bible abounds in vivid fantasy, such as its many celestial descriptions, or the portrayal of warring kingdoms with imaginary beasts.. the sparlock message is confusing, as much for an adult as for a child, as the bible shows that god's followers practice magic, even if they are usually referred to as miracles.
What witness has decided to allow viewing of I Dream of Jeannie and not Bewitched?
Or even allowed The Lord of the Rings and not Harry Potter?
Some families are different and not as strict as others. I've heard some say that I Dream of Jeannie is fantasy and Bewitched is outright witchcraft.
One must be mature enough to know the difference between the dangerous occult and a play toy. Level headed parents don't need the Society to tell them that.

The only reason why God objected to sorcery is because the act created a bond between the human and the attentive rebel spirit. A person who joins with one of these gets a buddy for life, one that follows them around wherever they go. Imagine a rebel angel floating into the camp of Israel with the Tabernacle in site. That would tick God off. These rovers are bored to death and need something to do to pass the time. It seems there are rules of engagement and they can't interact with humans unless we draw close to them.
When Jesus was accused of expelling demons by the power of the devil he said that was ludicrous because a house divided against itself cannot stand. In other words Satan would not remove his fellow comrades from humans to make God look good. If a voice in your head tells you to do a selfless act to help someone else and it works then probably it was from God or it was just your conscience. If your interaction with the situation was a million to one odd then most likely it was from God. I can't imagine Satan ever involving himself with aiding humans unless it benefited him in the end. Unless your in the camp that believes Satan is really trying to make this world a good place without God. If Satan could resurrect a person would he? If he could he would most likely bring back someone who served him well or even a hot lady he fancied. He might even kill a serial killer if he had the power to do so.
The amazing magic and miracles of ancient times are a thing of the past. It seems their powers today are limited to coincidence and causality, both for God and Satan. No energy to matter conversion allowed! No new limbs can be miraculously produced by Benny Hinn's side show.
Or else this is just fantasy and myth and no need to worry.
i ask that because i saw a flight of ufo's saturday morning.
at apx 1100h.. im not going to go into lengthy descriptions at all i know what i saw.
but what does the gb say about ufo's.. i ask as they think they are the most important thing in the universe thats all..
Some of the December Watchtowers highlighting the birth of Jesus explain their stance on UFOs. When they talk about the star that led the wise men to Jesus they say it had to be a flying low altitude beacon to reveal Jesus' exact location. Flying light orbs are the most common UFO's seen today. Since the gospel light orb sought out jealous King Herod first the society holds the view that it was a product of Satan.
Have you ever read about the Foo Fighter phenomena of World War II? High speed balls of light chased both Nazi and Allied fighter aircraft during the war. No one knows for sure why UFO activity was so active during this particular war but some have attributed it to Hitler's occult interests. If you want to see another guaranteed UFO sighting just follow someone interested in New Age thinking. I know someone who occasionally picks them up on digital camera shots. In one photo the UFO looked like a 4 ft amoeba. The second photo I saw it had the appearance of amoeba with light emitting from its center.
how many of the general public will know that isaiah 65:17 was fulfilled over two and a half thousand years ago (according to the wts)?.

The Society and the Abrahamic religions do not fully understand this scripture's fulfillment. No one can understand it until a new perception is revealed. For example everyone could not comprehend a spherical earth until mathematics through geometry was able to prove it, rockets with photographic equipment was able to reveal it, along with the concept of gravity to understand it.
The answer to the question would not benefit the religion who had it because no one would believe it. Hence, the problem with the missing perception. Early scientists calculated a round earth but the common man did not understand it until they saw it with their own eyes. Isaiah 65:17 won't be understood until there is supporting knowledge to explain it.
It will be revealed when the birth pangs begin.
regarding prophecy, i see nothing that they've ever been correct on.
from my understanding, they've always had to change the "truth" about the "truth".. scripturally, i can't see the logic of a godhead or a loving father eternally roasting a person who is deemed "bad".. yout thoughts, please?.
Maybe they misunderstood the lifespan intended for the generation mentioned in the gospels. If Genesis 6:3 is meant to be a lifespan limit then the Organization has until 2034 to get the Armageddon date right, with respect to 1914. Then again it would have to be sooner because that year is based on ones born in 1914.

i've always suspected this was the wt society's view when i was in the jehovah's witness organization - but never knew the head of the writing committee karl adams had written a letter to nathan knorr ( then wt president ) recommending a change regarding reporting field service time as it wrongly emphasized jw members being seen as mainly being approved due to field service statistics - instead of emphasizing christian qualities of love, kindness, peace, etc.. karl adams had been personally handpicked by nathan knorr to be the head of the writing department.
in 1971 he wrote a letter to knorr which he wanted shared with the entire governing body as well .

It's fine with me. The lower the service time the less you have to speak from the platform. Besides, I get stage fright. It's hard for me to put together a talk. I've never been good at organizing my thoughts to make a good presentation. Everyone always does better than me. I just assume they give the talks because its more beneficial to the audience. The ones that are good at it should be doing the talks and the ones that aren't shouldn't.
We all have gifts in different areas. My true spiritual self comes out when someone who knows me hears me explain my faith and my God. When I'm at the door with a stranger we are both uncomfortable with the situation and a deep conversation cannot take place. I have softened more peoples hearts at work about the witnesses than anything I have done in the ministry. One guy at work won't slam the door on witnesses anymore because I am one. We're not all that bad. As you can tell with my sentence structure I was never meant to speak publicly from the platform.
My publisher card may have low numbers but I know God is still leading and showing me what I need to know.

the purpose behind the article is to explore my own doubts and long-standing confusion over the genesis narrative - particularly the events surrounding adam and eve's expulsion from eden, and the "two trees" (namely the "tree of life" and the "tree of the knowledge of good and bad").. in my article i discuss my confusion over what the exact properties of the "tree of the knowledge of good and bad" may have been, and the fact that evidently by eating of the fruit adam and eve did not become sinful but more godlike.
I believe both trees had different types of hormones in their fruit. One particular tree would start puberty and sexual attraction in humans. Adam and Eve were as innocent children not knowing physical attraction. Choosing to eat of the forbidden fruit launched puberty and attraction, with God out of the picture.
God was waiting for them to ask the question on how to mate, since there was no physical drive to turn themselves on. They had no desire to become many and fill the earth so they did not ask him the question about sex drive. When the time was right he would have presented them to one of the trees for their next step.
Otherwise, if they were created fully mature Adam would have had intercourse with Eve the moment she was fully cooked and they would have had a perfect bun in the oven before the transgression. This would have created a paradox for God if the later was true. A number of perfect babies could have been born before the temptation. There would have been a world mixed with perfect humans and sinning humans.
The trees were meant to be hormone injectors. One tree launches procreation and one tree ensures errorless cellular reproduction.
the latest august 15th watchtower study edition features an interesting review of the society's annual meeting.. one comment struck me as evidence that the governing body isn't quite as "discreet" as it claims.. here is what the article said:.

I think they're following this scripture.
"If the clouds are full of rain, they empty themselves on the earth, and if a tree falls to the south or to the north, in the place where the tree falls, there it will lie."
They go wherever the wind blows them.

ive already seen it with my wife a few days ago and already seen how they leave a lot of details out concerning their teachings of old.
It was kind of cool to see old movie clips of Russel and Photo Drama of Creation in the DVD. After seeing Russel talk on camera I wondered what the org would look like if he were alive today? He was quite the revolutionary who wasn't afraid to speculate. If he was on the GB today he'd probably be kicked off for being too wild and independent.
Can you imagine the outcome if they had young GB members today? They should have one wild card in their ranks to shake'm up a bit? One revolutionary 25 year old maybe. Fresh and new ideas usually come from the younger generations. Just look at the StarWars movies. Lucas was very imaginative in the beginning, with his first three films. The last three were just yuck, except for the fight scene with Darth Maul, Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi.
