Hiya, Chip'nDale! I loved your explanation of the name, and sorry for writing it wrongly, but that's the way I'm seeing it in my head!
Though mind you, there's a lot of chipmunk in that image too! :D

sorry to raymond and cynthia franz for expelling them on trumped-up charges and forcing them from there bethel home.. sorry for demonizing many of raymond's accomplishmets, such as 'the aid to bible understanding' (the blue book) that he had a hand in putting together and that too many old timers remember who grew fond of reading to expand their bible knowledge.. sorry to oompa for disfellowshipping him and causing him to be shunned to the point where he couldn't take it any longer and wound up taking his own life.
.
sorry seems to be the hardest word for the wtbts to say!.
There are a number of people who find it impossible to say sorry.
Saying sorry means openly admitting that one is wrong or has done something wrong.
Saddest, most pathetic of all are people who have suffered under one form of hardship or injustice, and maybe have emerged from that (such as being disfellowshipped or even leaving or being asked to leave this good site) and then proceed to behave in the same way to other people.
We see it all the time, in children who were bashed and abused becoming bashers and abusers of their own children. Or even people disfellowshipped by the JW's forming groups of their own and becoming just as exclusive and autocratic as the group they left.
Tragic. Unpleasant. And happening horrifyingly close to your own keyboard, just a click away.
first time i ever heard anyone say there was 'proof' of noah's flood.. very interesting,.
showed a trawler, where the team dredges regularly in the north sea - for animal bones, massive land animal bones, mammoths.. he said, originally, the bones were sent for analysis, and the dr stated, they were proof of noah's flood.. the north sea area was a land mass of dry grazing lands.
and it was very similar to africa.. many bones were found in london, of lions, hippos, etc ... when they were digging out the underground.. .
i mentioned i was cleaning the forum archive when i bumped this thread by oompa:.
damm i miss jwd...this place will always be jwd to me.... rather than turn that into a discussion of the archive, i'll answer slimboyfat's concern here.. the things i'm clearing up are either:.
time specific and non jw related (e.g.
It all makes a lot of sense to me.
I am one of the very worst people for clearing out and tidying up, as all my children would tell you. But clearing out ten years or so of accumulated genuine junk seems useful and sensible and Simon, if it's anything like what even I steel myself to do from time to time, you'll be finding hidden treasures all the time!
Do you find you get sidetracked, rather as I do when clearing out a corner of a spare bedroom I find myself sitting down and reading a fresh a whole lot of letters before making a final decision on them?
Worst of all is when I come across yet another leaflet or booklet or even one of my own notebooks with notes on doors knocked on and return visits made! I did that the other day. You can guess where it went! LOL!
And by the way, thanks for this very very robust and sane site that was such a help to me in extricating myself from the WT clutches!
if any of you still believe in god(s), please pray to him/her/them and ask that she/he/they send(s) bad enough weather to my area to hinder travel, but not cut off power.. is that request too weird for this forum?.
someday i'll share more details.
peace, love, brotherhood..
Saraswati is an accomplished lady.
Thor is good like that, what with all that hammer-swinging. Perfect.
And the FSM. No need of words. Generously have you received, Billy.

Perhaps divine intervention struck Billy dumb?
before the usual suspects start reaching for the pich-forks and forming a mob, i invite you to actually read and consider this, not just leap to conclusions.. http://www.globalpost.com/dispatch/news/regions/americas/united-states/130607/7-graphs-america-overrated-nsa-prism-privacy.
why do i care?
it seems the people being screwed the most are also the most visciferous defenders of the status quo which sees them being severely disadvantaged.. maternity leave?
Well, as for me, I'm in the UK, I love the UK, and I have absolutely no wish to be in the USA. Wouldn't mind seeing things like the Rocky Mountains and the Grand Canyon, but that's about it. One of my sons worked in the USA for three months a year or so ago, and the child that was old enough to go to school spent three months in an American school, where she was bullied for being English. She was eight.
I was also very surprised and rather shocked that she was required to swear allegiance to the American flag, of all things! Why should she have had to pledge allegiance to a flag that isn't hers? She knows she is loyal to the Queen!
hubby and i are getting ready to start.
looking for some input, if you have any.
thanks!
Yes, Pickler, Ido things like that too. Blue cheese isn't exactly paleo...but I think a relaxed paleo does no harm, certainly after a few weeks. Rice...actually, wild rice is OK, and whole grain rice in strict moderation can be used occasionally, especially on a relaxed paleo!
Also, occasional spelt or other ancient wheat-like grain can be included just sometimes.
Extra cold-pressed virgin olive oil is very good, and yes, linseed...I use real linseed, but I expect the oil is good too!

Yes, I did it and stuck to it for about nine months, some three years ago, and I still keep to it more or less, but not now so strictly.
It suits me. I find it a very natural and healthy way to I eat. Basically, you stick to anything that early man could have hunted, killed, caught or fished for, plus anything that could have been picked, plucked, gathered, dug up, etc. anything edible that would have been in the natural environment, and, as far as possible, anything grown or cultivated organically is best.
So, all manner of fruit and vegetables, nuts, meat, fish, fowl etc. I was told to avoid cereals and especially wheat, though a little oatmeal or rye bread was allowed, and to avoid all dairy produce, as well as potatoes. Oh, and you are supposed to eat offal, preferably three times a week, i.e. liver, kidneys, heart etc.
I found that after a while I really craved milk and cheese. (Eggs were allowed, by the way). And the smell of freshly-baked bread really made my mouth water. It was those banned foods that I found I just had to start eating again. But, I lost nearly two and a half stone, and felt healthy.
Now, I still keep largely to the same principles, but I do eat bread (wheat) and freely use all dairy products. Plenty of fruit and green vegetables are very important, as are root vegetables, at least twice a day.
I enjoyed it! It was recommended to me by a friend who is a nutritionist. Even so, I felt that some carbohydrate must be essential, and I did eat some rye crisp read, and a couple of oatcakes most days. I avoided using butter if I possibly could. Don't miss breakfast. That's important.and also, instead of eating two or three large meals a day, be prepared to eat a little snack when youbegin to feel hungry. Every snack should contain protein in some form. I ate a lot more nuts than usual. Almonds are particularly recommended. Also, not too many peas and beans, for some reason which I forget.
I recommend it as a diet to lose weight and as a way of life.
not even eating with such a man?.
today i added a new article to my blog taking a closer look at watchtowers doctrinal position that jehovahs witnesses should not even eat a meal with disfellowshipped individuals.
as it turns out watchtower holds families among jehovahs witnesses to one standard and holds itself to a wholly different standard.
"A disfellowshiped person is no member of Jehovah’s congregation"
Love the way they think they can speak on behalf of God!
