Here's the benefit of confessing your sins to the Elders, I know how they things work.
1. Five, Ten or Twenty years from now and you make a mistake, your sin is thrown back in your face.
2. The notes taken by the Elders are carried from congregation to congregation, this is not like the Catholic Church who claims to absolve the sins both you.
3. If you are part of the 90%, your sins are going to be told at Parties, with Elders who talk about friends sins behind their back. Your not safe, you will suffer the consequences of your sins forever, elderettes will laugh and giggle for you!
4. Any sins you committ will be compared to the original sins you and you wife made, your never free in this Organization.

HANDLING CHEMOTHERAPY - Advice anyone?
by hamsterbait ini have just been diagnosed with colorectal cancer (tuesday).. the consultant told me i am to get a scan to see how far it has spread.. i am going to have surgery to remove it, then chemotherapy with a break in the middle.. strange to say i am more terrified of dying under the anesthetic than anything.
but i have a fear of nausea and vomiting, which chemo caused in all my relatives who have had it.. any advice for coping with this?.

Hampsterbait, your not going to die going under the surgeons care, I promise you! Doctors are so incredible and skilled, are you getting your treatment from a Cancer Center? Your going to be fine, hope you get well soon! Lots of gingerale for anti-nausea, the stronger the ginger the better!
Amgen has some great anti-nausea medications and maybe ask your doctor about getting some 'digestive enzymes"? They made the difference between keeping some food down and not.

Why Is Alcoholism Deeply Embeded In JW Culture?

why are the wrong people getting praise in this distorted community?
i know for a fact many of the elders i served with have issues with alcoholism, when "brother guilt" brought his emotional hurricane through our circuit, i had the chance to eat and help pay for his "seven shots of tequila", both him and his wife were not immune to over-indulgences.

A not so loving phone call....
by new hope and happiness ini recently got a letter in my pillar box asking me to attend a meeting at the k.h.
i ignored the " kind" request.. this was folloed up by a " loving" phone call with the question " do i believe in the organisation" my reply.
" anyway what pissed me off was during the " loving" phone call i realized there was another " brother" listning in.

I know from experience this is a very common practice, they might have up to three elders on the phone without your permission. This is why you can't trust them, I swear I know of Judical Meetings were the Elders said "No recording devices" when two of them were using electronic recording devices, so who can you really believe if not your trusty Shepherds who would hunt down those sick and weak sheep?
This is a lesson to all JWs willing to speak their mind freely on the phone, expect at least another Elder unless you know the Elder you are speaking to has honor and true love for you. The CBOE and his wife recorded their parents as a way to Welch from paying them back money they owed them. Once this Dexter and Hannah couple got their recording, they never talked to her parents again!
