Pahpa - Yeah that's going to be tough but I can handle that since I wanna fade anyway. There are a few close friends I have that won't care...but all the rest of my many "friends" will shriven up I'm ready for that.

Zoiks - Yes I've thought of that one thank you for that. My wife knows I have found major flaws in WT theology but hasn't told anyone- she could "out me" to the elders so I worry about that. She is asleep and defending the WT when we talk, trying to do research on the WT Lib and saying she's not sure if she can stay married to me... So yeah maybe the "marital problems" reason would work- it certainly is true...

I ended up in the back room of the KH today
by Nobleheart inour public talk and wt study is on saturdays.
i was informed by an elder that i shouldn't leave right away after the meeting.. immediately i had a sinking feeling in my stomach.
but not as bad as i would have felt about it months ago.

One person that left by DAing said he was glad he did but wished he had accrued more names and addresses of the friends because he sent out many letters prior to leaving. This is a "one-time" coin that you can spend and it may help others that are questioning the WT to see that you still love God and Christ and that's not why you are leaving.
I am in a similar situation and going to fade soon- but as a servant they are not going to make it easy I know. *sigh* I am finishing this comment and going to say a pray for you right now sis.

Hey I'm wondering if anyone can give some good advice on how to step down in the safest way.

What should I tell the body? I've thought about "I have doubts" but a friend said that is the worst thing he ever did when he stepped down. If I just fade they are gonna start asking my wife Qs (which I don't want) and I'm not really a "sick" person either but I could become a little sicker, lol.
Help...

Incredible speaker, very funny like listening to Bill Cosby give a talk. Didn't he give one based on Col 3:23 and say "Are you serving Jehovah whole souled? Or is there a hole...in your...SOUL?" that was awesome...

Wasting people's time, even JWs is stupid and immature. It's not nice to make fun of people- didn't your mother ever teach you that?
If you had actually tried to show them the truth about the truth I'd respect that. But as it is you are bragging about being an @sshole aren't you? "Good job! hehehe!" go your foolish fans...
That's not what Jesus taught. But oh you don't believe in him that's right I forgot.

What are the people at Bethel like? What's the GB like?
by doubtful ini can't even count the number of times i've heard people say how incredibly humble and down-to-earth and caring the exectuives at bethel are.
i've had one first person encounter with a gb member..i forget his name although i would be able to identify him in a picture.
he did seem genuinely nice.

Was there in the late 80s as a worker bee in the binder-eeee.
The GB that I briefly met or observed but didn't speak at length to:
A. Schroeder - grumpy and mad that the waiters broke up his table because there wasn't enough people sitting at it...but maybe he was really hungry...
John Barr - very friendly, seemed to really care when he shook your hand.
T Jaracz - aloof, and his wife was a shrew that's for sure.
F Franz - he was blind and being led around but did hear his prayer at Gilead Grad which was amazing he was a smart old guy with feet of clay as we now know.
Lymann Swingle - very genuine, but nice. One of the few that comes out o.k. in COC...
Spoke to:
Milton Henschel - was like Abe Lincoln, very tall soft spoken, seemed nice, and also seemed humble.
Dan Sydlik - very funny, very cool, if he didn't like you then you knew it. He was not a faker.
Karl Klein - a bit nuts, kinda weird, could barely understand his voice. He chewed me out royal once for having a guest visit after hours that wasn't wearing meeting clothes...they were devestated, I told them not to worry about it after he stomped off down the carpeted corridor...
A few years after leaving, had Guy Pierce serve my cong. Very very smart guy, friendly and a great speaker.
My take on it all: They may be sincere, but they are caught up in the concept, and that is what consigns them to the tar pits. Stuck in the black muck and trying to keep it together to protect their ass-ets

Yan Bibiyan: "that may be a mail fraud or some other nasty offense" Try looking up the definition of something before commenting...Mail Fraud has to do with using the postal service to try and steal money, and the DMCA has to do with distributing or reproducing a copyrighted work without permission. You can write a hundred letters a day saying you are Yosemite Sam or Santa Clause...it's perfectly legal.

Lots of stuff has been written on this one. Here's the (possibly!) new part:
- Get the secretary's address, then move across town, to the next town, county, state, etc. The farther the better.
- Wait a few weeks then write a letter from your "new secretary" to your previous one requesting your publisher record cards. (I can dig up a couple old ones I wrote when I was secretary if you need a template lol) Use a P.O. Box if possible.
- Sound slightly uneducated and non-computer literate in the letter requesting the cards (perhaps some small misplellings ) and do not include a phone number, just the return address. Mention that you are glad to have <your own name and any family members> in your hall and perhaps a small piece of personal information that you would mention when meeting a new secretary, like the new job you have landed in the <insert your job> field.
After a few weeks you will probably receive the cards and the letter of introduction, along with a request for a phone number so they can “fill you in” on the dear publisher that has moved (YOU) so you can know best how to assist them. If so, then you are DONE. And you have an interesting letter to read, and a nice parting gift from your successful fade. Tada!
IF they write back asking for a phone number then you have a cagey one and the ploy can still be salvaged. You can either: Write back with a land line type number that is made up, OR give an ex-JW their number that you have given the heads-up to. Make sure you give them the proper name and return address, etc. of your “new secretary”. I’m sure you would probably have several volunteers from this board if you needed one. They will call and request the cards, and again, you are “In like Flynn”. This would the trickiest part and they probably would need to know of a congregation near where your PO Box address is and the ability to fake well. Then buy them a case of beer for their troubles...
Tada!
P.S.
BTW I have updated my Gravatar and it will NOT display here if anyone knows why help me please...

Are there jw 'safehouses'?
by Holey_Cheeses*King_of_the juice. inperhaps a member can provide some details regarding this matter.. my wife mentioned to me this evening that one of her younger sisters who is sort of close to the jw parents said that her parents had 'let the cat out of the bag' by stating that their house is a designated safe house in the event of a catastrophe (i assume this would be termed a natural disaster as opposed to a great trib type event).. is this true of the dubs?
could it be only an australian 'thing', or is it a world wide directive of the gb?.
thanks.. cheeses.

We just had a part this week on the importance of "go-bags". In my mind if there is a disaster it's gonna be a matter of hunkering down and surviving with what we have at home, not trying to "flee to the mountains of Pella" or something...
