  JW's Thoughts on Medical Cannabis

  i've wondered this for sometime.

  to all of the jws on the forum, what is your opinion on medical cannabis?

  i support it for a couple of reasons.. 1. i've battled clinical depression since age 9. after my anti-depressants stopped working when i was 21, i heard about cannabis' positive effects on depression through the internet and a couple of documentaries so i tried it.

  With respect to SIAM (You are kool bro lol) I was under the understanding that the "Slave" was OK with it as long as you have a prescription from a Doctor... The point is that if it's prescribed then it is legit. That's what a brother from the service dept told me a few years back.

  BTW, Mr Bushido, now that I realize the WT is a false prophet, and no longer feel compelled to follow their directives, may I borrow a couple squares of your medical marijuana brownies???? Seriously, I think I need one!

  i enjoy making return visits and helping out on bible studies.

  on my better days, i like to witness from house to house.barbara, who has a brain tumor.. i carry only a very light magazine bag.

  I am in agreement with most of you...

  BUT I will be the Devil's advocate for a moment and say that as sad as it is, this is ALL SOME OF THESE people have in their lives and if they want to kill themselves in what they *perceive* to be life-saving works and acts of Godly devotion, then that is their business...they are sincere and for that I salute them.

  how much the organisation loves to quote from the letters to timothy!

  however, how often do you see the following scripture being used to encourage ones to provide for a disfellowshipped family member?.

  certainly if anyone does not provide for those who are his own, and especially for those who are members of his household, he has disowned the faith and is worse than a person without faith.

  Good point Timothy- The scrip is always applied to $$$$$ but what about providing the "more important things" like love and support?

  I have told my children many times that no matter what they ever say or do I will ALWAYS LOVE THEM and be there for them...that will never change no matter what, even if I disagree with their choices. That is unconditional love- the WT doesn't know what that is sadly.

  @Aussie Oz -You don't think the proliferation of Mentally Dieseased Apostates TM doesn't rankle the exalted most high governing body boys? You could be right, but I think a two pronged attack was at work- scare the rank and file, and hurt and make the lives of awake JWs/ExJWs harder with their family members. Just a theory IMO...

  Yeah we went on a little vacation that weekend...what a coincidence!

  One brother I know listened to it and noted how many different negative phrases and names that they called apostates- he tallied over 50! I think that perhaps the GB are responding to our attacks, and this is their "Empire Strikes Back" moment where the rebellion seems to have been crushed.

  They have wounded a few of us, but they have not stopped us...HELL NO WE WON'T GO!

  This says that that most people, i.e., ALL people not purified by the GB, have an Unholy Spirit TM ? That's 7 billion that will be killed at armageddon to be exact. Well anyway, I didn't remember ever hearing of this before in the pubs so I did some digging. The phrase has been used exactly TWO times in the WT Library, in the 1984 WT, March 15, as well as the old but still spry 1955 WT of 10/1. The former mentions "an unholy spirit, or motivating force, [that] produces ‘enmities, strife, contentions, divisions, sects." and the latter talks about "unholy spirit creatures".

  Well I'm glad we got THAT settled. Anyway, avoid the Unholy Spirit TM , and you will prosper. Good health to you!

  Bizarre 'Spirit anointed' v. 'Spirit appointed' explanation in Dec 15th WT

  hi everyone, i am going through the dec 15th study edition of the wt thanks to a tip-off that this issue is now available online at jw.org.. in the article "guided by god's spirit in the first century and today" on page 25 there is a bizarre argument put forward by the society about the difference between spirit-anointed and spirit-appointed.. this touches on a subject that i have often wondered about, which is this.

  why are spirit anointed brothers and sisters (memorial partakers) not given positions of oversight in the congregation by default?

  i know it sounds like a stupid question, but please think about it for a moment.
