  i have to be in the los angeles area for several months .... i attended khs there from 1969 - 1981 it would be great to find some old friends who "are not" with the organization.

  REINSTATEMENT-how long does it take?

  if anyone can tell me how long it takes to be reinstated, i would greatly appreciate it.

  years ago when i was a witness, it was determined by the individual's progress.

  someone has relayed to me that it is now a mandatory minimum of 1 year.

  Normally it's a year or so, if you're doing well. I've seen some get back in about 6 months or so, but that's uncommon. An elders son, who did really well took about 18 months, they wanted to make him an example I guess.

  Toilet Seat Up Or Down??????

  we have no problems in our relationship about the toilet seat.

  but others seem to make a big deal as to whether the guy should leave it down for us ladies.. what's your take on this?

  take into account ladies that if a man puts it down, and we leave it down, he has to always be putting it up.

  Dealing with Shunners

  it was kind of fun yesterday when i was in line at the local coffee house.

  a "sister" came up and stood in line right next to me.

  now, my ex is df'd and i am probably "bad association", but technically they should not shun me because i never got dunked.

  Freeman I have been shunned by someone that was DFed, but, they were trying to get reinstated. So they were playing by the rules. Now if a person wasn't trying to get back in, well that would be just stupid to shun ya.

  hi i really need some help on this i would like to marry a jw female and she is disfellowshiped her family wants her to be reinstated and so do i but i would like to marry her also any help at all

  Dorian I know a couple of jw women that married their "worldly" boyfriends and then got reinstated before long. If you plan to marry her anyway then you can do that and it would help her reinstatement.

  The two of you are still young, I don't encourage anyone to get married at your age. Many do but the majority will have problems.

  Sometimes what happens to these women or men that get DFed is that they will get reinstated (to see family) and then quietly fade away from the religion. It's something that will allow them to see family and friends.

  I wish you the best Dorian, but please don't join yourself. It's a very controlling cult. It has ruined many lives. Look how sad your girlfriend and her family aren. Many are much worse off.

  So what kind of help do you need? How can we help you?

  First of all just dating a disfellowshipped witness isn't going to speed up the reinstatement process. It may slow her down in that area.

  Still I know many dfed people who have married outside of the faith and been reinstated at a later date.

  Just not sure what you're looking for here. My take on it would be to run if she returns to being a witness. But I don't know your or her. No idea of what's best in your situation.

  Pretty good story Amazing. Mine is so boring by comparison. It's a hand me down and after using it a few short years I discovered that is was very flammable. Especially when you spash a gallon of gas on it.
