@ Lola-rabbit: your absolutely right! I was handling mikes during this study and I was shaking my head nearly the entire time. I really can't believe people can be in full support of these things. It's funny how JW's condemn everyone else for every mistake and fault made. But anything they do is easily justified and supported in their eyes. SMH

@00DAD: I've novticed how there are zero thinking skills involved with JW's. I was listening the the utterly ignorant comments made by individuals at the hall, including my ELDER father. My fathers statement during the WT was "if disfellowshipped indiviuals continued to have contact with family and friends in the organization, then that individual might say 'well why should I come back when everyone still talks to me like nothing ever happened.' But if they they have no contact with these ones and realize they have no family or friends, this can encourage them to come back" I had my mouth open in shock at this point. I'm not even going to delve deep into that comment as it is pretty typical and speaks for itself.

16. Moses brother. Aaron, faced a difficult situation with regard to two of his sonds. Think of how he must have felt when his sons Nadab and Abihu offered illegitimate fire to Jehovah and He struck them dead. Of course, that ended any association those men could have had with their parents. But there is more. Jehovah instructed Aaron and his faithful sons: "Do not let your heads go ungroomed, and you must not tear your garments[in mourning], that you may not die and that [Jehovah] may not become indignant against all the assembly." (Lev. 10:1-6) The message is clear. Our love for Jehovah must be stronger than our love for unfaithful family members.

17. Today, Jehovah does not immediately execute those who violate his laws. He lovingly gives them the opportunity to repent from their unrighteous works. How would Jehovah feel, though, if the parents of an unrepentant wrongdoer kept putting Him to the test by having unnecessary association with their disfellowshipped son or daughter?

So looking at the bolded text, although they do not say bluntly say "Jehovah is being loving towards His people today unlike the UNloving way he dealt with people in the past...", is that not the implication of the way this text was worded? In effect, saying, "Nadub and Abihu were struck dead immediately for violating God's law. But today, rather than the harsh and unloving way He dealt with Nadub and Abihu, 'He lovingly gives them the opportunity to repent from their unrighteous work'". That would obviously be contrary to Deuteronomy 32:4, which says "The Rock, perfect is his activity, For all his ways are justice. A God of faithfulness, with whom there is no injustice; Righteous and upright is he.".

Better to live the JW "life" or live the christian life, die, and be resurrected?

this is a question i've been wanting to ask.

i'm not sure if i understand their whole "resurrection" teaching totally.

but it appears that to any jw's who may not want to be, or any others for that matter, dont have to be baptized in the borg at all.

I was thinking more along the lines of what a JW would say in response to this question. Personally I dont see the difference between slaving and being resurrected later to be taught "truths"

This is a question I've been wanting to ask. I'm not sure if I understand their whole "resurrection" teaching totally. But it appears that to any Jw's who may not want to be, or any others for that matter, dont HAVE to be baptized in the Borg at all. If there's going to be a spiritual resurrection of the righteous and the unrighteous(basically everyone as far as I know), isn't it better to just live your life the way you feel is right, and then just be resurrected later? Whats the difference between slaving for the Society for you entire life, and being resurrected later to the same end? I'm not sure I understand it all

i had a normal life and very loving parents who would do anything for me and my brother(who is 21).

Thank you for this update. If he will read CoC, it could very well be a game-changer for him. Please keep us posted, if possible. (Hassan's book will help with the 'Where else would we go?' issue.)

^I do indeed believe that to be the case. I am trying every avenue I can to obtain a copy of Hassan's book. It seems the two books work well interchangably it seems.

MAd Sweeney- I will explain to him the the reason I mention this now as opposed to later was in light of tomorrows WT study. I feel if I mentions that he wont think of the WT so much as "timely" as they would call it. I will see if I get him started today. Our meeting is 9:30 AM so it has to start asap.

No chance of skipping the meeting. Parents would have a cow. lol. As far as him being a rat, I already know for a fact that won't be the case. Of course, nothing is 100 certain. But from his uncertain and obviously ignorant answers to my questions, Its obvious he is not totally sold on every teaching.But I told him that if he reads the book in its entirety and is still 100% conviced its the truth w/o a doubt, I will never mention it again. We'll see what happens *crosses fingers*

went to a funeral today, somewhat awestruck.

this morning i went to a catholic funeral mass for a priest who inherited, and help grow an orphanage in chicago.

he died from cancer which he had for the past several years.. when he got the orphanage back in the early 70's the church was ready to shut it down for lack of direction, and growth.

but since he took over the reins,.

I always hate going to JW funerals. They turn into preaching sessions for their non-JW relatives. At the end they always say...."if you would to like to recieve more information about Jehovah's Witness teaching and the resurrection hope, you may see any one of Jehovah's Witnesses and they would be more that happy to share that with you". It really annoyed me. Very nice story. I look forward to those real life people when I can finally get out. :)

I have GOOD NEWS!!!! I just told my brother everything because I couldn't take it anymore. I explained a couple of things such as new light. And his explantion was God awful. But he agreed to read the book CoC. So Im really happy. I have no idea what kind of view hell take but I'm happy that at least he has an open mind about it. I have such a HUUUGe sigh of relief for getting that off my chest. :)

CCMC must come first, though. Then you'll understand the psychology you're up against.

^I agree. As soon as my friend can get the book for me, I will begin to read it. I've chosen not to say anything to him until after I've at least finished that. I used to think JWs were so one-of-a-kind. Totally unique in every way.....turns out their very much the same as other cults....

What is Apostasy?

according to religionists an apostate is anyone who leaves the watchtower.. according to god however an apostate is anyone who follows the watchtower.. this is an act spiritual unfaithfulness or prostitution - following a pseudo-mediator or visible golden calf instead of the greater moses namely jesus..

I agree. I've been looking through every occurence of apostacy and they make every single one out to horrible, evil, mentally diseased people bent on tearing down the "truth" from others. Little do they know....

My story .....no friends after leaving the Cult and lost wife?

i realized today that i have no friends at all...it's me and my wife and two dogs and three goldfish, thats it's....i'm not too bothered by it but my wife wants to go back just for the friends.....i have de-programed her out of the "matrix" and she now thinks for herself, but she still feels like she needs a spritual side and friends.

i have people at work but we don't hang out.

i've become a a loner.

It really is awful. I feel for you. Their love is exclusive on you devotion to the Society. I'm sure there are more suicides than are reported...
