i'm even a little hesitant to do this but i have finally decided to try, for a while at least.
a lot of the comments that i have read seem somewhat harsh toward the witnesses.

This doesn't make it any easier, but the fact is that all organizations are the same. It doesn't matter if it's GM, the Teamsters, The Department of Human Services, or the JWs. The goals of the organization come first. Many fine things might be accomplished, but the individual caught in the machinery of the organization simply doesn't matter. The organization comes first. It is the law of organizations, as certain as the Law of Gravity in physics.
In his first book, Ray Franz talked about small groups of well meaning, good people getting together to study the Bible. And they as they grow, he said that with "depressing regularity", they eventualy become the very bad thing that they originally escaped.
It's sad, but it's a fact of life that we have to live with. As a result of my conclusions, I'm not much of a "joiner" today.

In defense of LDH,
If I recall correctly, LDH only "pulled rank" once in response to a smart assed poster name "smart girl". I felt "right proud" of LDH's accomplishments. Basicly, she said that she came from behind with the JW restrictions as an impediment, and out achieved her "worldly" peers by far, and that she was a lot smarter than "smart girl". She never brought it up again, as far as I know. Just as the scriptures should not be taken out context, I don't think her words should be either.
I have not realy followed the nuances of word inter-change lately, and I really do want to stay out that part of it.I don't know if my comments will calm things down or make them worse, but that's how I see the historical (or is it hysterical) context.
By the way, I'm in the truth, the truth about gardening, the internet, music of the '50's and other various and sundry sources of truth.

we need to figure out a doctrine, a manifesto, and a set of disciplinary rules.
we need to figure out a way to fund our new movement.

What should the WTBS do?!?!
by LDH inwell guys sorry i haven't participated much lately, i've been really busy.
but, i do have a question that i would really appreciate all of your input on.. it is no secret that young people are leaving jws faster and faster.
it is no secret that most jws are disappointed, and hurt by lack of prophecy fulfillment.. so here's what i was thinking: i'm going to post some very personal thoughts on what *i* think they need to do in order to stop the loss of almost 50,000 disfellowshipped and probably 4x that to inactivity.
