Since I was a kid I have trouble sleeping. But now I sleep better. My solution was a sleep number bed and a very, very sweet labrabor. Suffering with PTSD I find if I wake up with a episode and my dog is sound alseep next to me nothing is really going on but my crazy nightmare. I soon fall asleep again. With ADD reading a book at the end of the day is like asking me to swim across the ocean. The brain is out of town by then. Falling asleep is not the problem its staying asleep that has always been the problem. Totally ADD

How well do you sleep?

a couple of pages of my book and i'm away til morning, apart from the odd bladder brigade journey.
however, suddenly, after our house move, i am having just an awful time of it.

assemblies and alcohol
by pedal power inour dc coming up this weekend, i hated them and the only thing that kept me going ,was the reward of booze at the end of each day.my then wife,zelous judgemental pioneer, you know the type,not only droned on about my drinking, but about everyones drinking, a real barrel of laughs not.
anyway, one year we went to another dc, in newcastle, all seemed to be going well, until lunch.we went over to a hotel for lunch,i ordered my fresh orange and food, a few minutes later, the local jw,s arrived for lunch, they had all pr-ordered drinks,alcoholic drinks, and not one drink but many !!!
they were buisy getting boozed up for the afternoon session,way to go, i was about to join them, when my wife told me " dont even think about it ", anyway she was outraged, but there they were ,with thier little convention badges, men and women, young and old, getting merry, they dont even do that here in scotland, !!!.

LOL AwareBeing. Like telling little children don't do this don't do that. When living in the SE most of the former CO and wives were all closet drinkers. When I was a kid we would have the D.O. stay at my parents house and at the end of the CA back at my parents house he ask if they had something to drink? My parents had a full bottle of vodka. With just ice in the large glass we watch him drink the whole bottle like it was water. Only way JW can numb there mind from all the crap the WT feeds them is to drink. Totally ADD

one elder knows how i feel and i would not talk to anyone but him.

I agree with all the comments. The elders have no right just to talk to your wife alone. I do not like the WT headship thinking but here you can use it to your advanage. As a ex-elder they are going to try to find out why you are not a elder anymore. I am sure they are already talking about you behind your back on reasons why. I understand how this is putting undue stress on you and your wife. This is just another reason why as each day goes by I see this is a cult of control. Good luck and take care. Totally ADD

October Sky. When the son tells his dad he did not want to be a coal miner just because his dad was a coal miner. He wanted something better in life. He wanted to work with rockets. His dad could not understand why. Becuase coal mining was good enough for him it should be good enough for his son. Love this movie. I have question about the new light on the statues toes
by Igot2bme inmy son went to the dc this past weekend and we visited on the phone for a bit about what he picked up there.
he of course was sad and worried for us because we no longer have anything to do with the org.
we covered alot of issues that had to do with why i felt that the org did not have gods holy spirit.

I don't know what they said about the toes but I do know the teaching that the (anglo-american) being the last of the world powers is nothing new. They have been saying that since I was a kid and I am 57 now. As far as the toes go they have been back and forth with them for years. It's one of those things they don't have a clue about. Except they keep changing it to make everybody think there is some new light coming out. This is one of those teaching the majority of the JW don't know what they really teach. So the WT can get away with whatever they say. Totally ADD

Good job. I started to read it yesterday but found it hard to get through. Being a born-in and a survivor of sexual/physical abuse from the P.O. I was in as a child. It causes very strong feelings. Don't feel bad about posting this. It is this kind of things that will stir up feelings in people and get them to thinking and asking questions. Your story and I feel 10,000's more is a very common thing in the JW cult. They have alot to anwser for. I feel the generation of children in this cult for the last 50 years will be eternally scarred. This is what you get when you have a organization that is runned by sociopaths. This story hurts but help you and many more to move forward and heal. Thanks again. Totally ADD

Sounds like what they did when I was a teenager in the late 60's early 70's. If you wanted to vaction pioneer you could sign up for 75 hours or 100 hours. Just now its much lower hours. On well, same old stuff just diffrent numbers. Totally ADD
