With the news from Barbara Anderson today my wife and I our thankful we have escaped. It's been a long jounery for us but a feeling of doing the right thing feeling. For many months now my wife keeps saying to me we escaped just in time. It has been all on this board that has help me so much in waking up from this cult. I feel so sorry for all who are still trapped and scared because of mind control to get out. I hope that very soon the WT will be exposed worldwide for what they really are. I sometimes wonder were I got the courage to finally leave but when I think about it all of you have had a part in that. The displays of your own courage. Your experiences you wrote about. Your research you all brought out. And finally your life stories that hurt you while you wrote it but at the same time help heal you of many emotional wounds you received by the hands of this cult. Yes I am happy I have made the break from this cult but it was all of you that made that possible. Thank you for all you have done for my wife and I. Totally ADD

WTS Controlling Tactics Similar to Phillip Garrido's on Jaycee Dugard ........
by flipper in........ and of course, that should come as no big surprise considering phillip and nancy garrido were jehovah's witnesses either before, or quite possibly at the time they abducted & kidnapped jaycee and stole her life away for 18 years.
i will share some excerpts from jaycee dugard's new book " a stolen life " and see if you also identify similar mind control tactics garrido used on jaycee that the wt society uses on 7 million members.. notice this quote from jaycee about schools and education , " i, however, have mixed feelings about high school.
on the one hand, for eighteen years i had been taught ( by garrido ) that schools are bad and kids learn bad things there and peer pressure can ruin a child's life forever ; but when i consider who i heard all this stuff from, a kidnapper, rapist, pedophile, narcissistic, pervert, i can only come to one conclusion.

Hi flipper. I saw this same controlling tactics in the homes of JW when I growing up. My parents did the same thing as this nut case did. My dad would tell me don't trust anyone who is not a JW. Don't make any freinds who are not JW. Don't have any interest outside the JW cult. Why because they are all going to be killed at armageddon. As a child this scare tactic works real well with children. The problem is when these children grow up this paranoia thinking continues on. This is the danger of this cult. You can go into any average KH and you will see this wrap thinking everywhere. That is why you see so many born-ins screwed up. Totally ADD

Update: I got the shun at my dad's funeral- the best outcome really!!
by Coffee House Girl inhello all jwn .
so glad to have that over with- it was surreal to walk in the kh after two years...it is just a building to me now (not "jehovah's house").
i must say that now i'm on the outside...what a boring sad building- the people were not joyful and friendly (just older and fatter than i remember)- i got the nervous stares and shaky "hi" when i looked at all of them and said hello.. my mom was sitting all by herself in the front row of the hall...i went and sat by her side.

Our condolences to the lost of your father. You are a very brave person. To go to a fake cult funeral. I remember quite well the last witness funeral I was at. Only the so called worldly people gave my wife and I comfort. The witnesses could not understand why we were so hurt and sad at the lost of our friend. Only one person in the cult came up to us and try to comfort us. After that experience I vowed to totally leave this cult. I have never seen such a lack of human compassion. All anyone could say to us was will now that he is gone you can go out in service again and go to all the meetings. Both my wife and I were in shock and traumatized by our friends death and nobody could see it. All they could see was he is dead now you guys can now resume your cult training. What a strong person you are to look at those people straight in the eye and show them the love you had for your dad. The cult don't get jokes they are to ignorant to understand it. So don't worry what they think. Sorry for your lost now comes the time to heal. I hope as time goes on your thoughts about your dad will give you joy. Totally ADD

I blew it on the last post it stress me out to much also the Ritalin has worn off. I meant Stress out going in field service, Stress out going to meetings, stress out dealing with others in the cult who are stress out. Little to no stress ourside in the world. But if I was still in the cult I would be stressing over being stress out. As you can tell this was stressful thinking about it. LOL Totally ADD

No stress going out in field service, no stress going to meetings not stress dealing with other stress out cult members. So let's see outside in the world I have not had any stressful things come up yet. But if I was still in the cult I would be stressing over being stress out. Boy that was stressful. LOL Totally ADD

Telling a Depressed Person It's Demons!
by NewChapter inwhen a person is depressed, their cognitive abilities are depleted.
they are processing reality through a very negative filter and need help getting balanced.
they often experience fear, guilt, hopelessness and anxiety.

This just goes to show you how superstitious the JW cult is. They still believe depression is caused by demons. When I was going through therapy for my problems a so called sister came to visit us. When we were not looking see was snooping around our home and found one of my work books on my problems. She comes running to me asking what this was all about. I told her I was going to a therapist for my depression and other problems. She started getting mad at me and telling me I did not need that and it was demonic thinking. I should be reading my bible more and do more in the service. We had a heated argument and she left. I have never talk to this person again. The Cult has them believing all problems can be solved by reading your bible and going out in service. When I told my JW family I was going to a therapist they acted like I was talking to the devil himself. Another reason I hate this Cult. Totally ADD

If you go to bethel today you will see this stepford wife thinking. The last time I did Temp. work I went with a brother my age who was only in for a few years. He had just got married to a sister. This was his first marriage in the cult. What he saw at bethel on how the sister fell all over their husbands he thought that was how his new wive should be. Will his new wive was a born-in both on there 3rd marriage. Boy did he have a big surprise when his wife would not do what he saw at bethel. He went to me to talk with them. I sided with his wife. He never said anything but he was mad at me for sometime. LOL Totally ADD
