My dear Grace aka Mouthy. It was Mouthy that I got to know when I first started to lurk as will as many others. But it was you that made me think how a older person saw through the veil of the darkness of the WT and had the courage to leave. This kind of courage showed me I also could do it. For a born-in that is a very scary, scary thought. I have always loved your wit, frankness on a matter, your compassion and love and also your abililty because of your wisdom give a person a kick in the butt and help them think about which right direction they should go. I find with myself when I do something very exciting like you did just a few days ago I go into a mild depresssion and I feel worthless or get overly critical about things. I don't know if that what happens to you but I do know you will sadly be missed if you leave this forum. Only being on this forum for only 7 months now I made a promise that I would be kind, compasssionate, and understanding to those on this board. And those who want to go off the handle I will listen to them but I refuse to feed their anger with more anger. I realize for some anger is all they have after leaving this cult. Their anger really shows the pain that they are in. You are right this forum has changed. I have even notice that. But there are many new ones coming on that are just starting to get their feet wet on writing their feelings. Remember being in the WT cult does not allow you to do that. So my dear Grace take some much needed time off and refresh yourself. And be patient with us newbies we will find our voice and hopefully in the furture we will be the ones others look up to for help to get out of this damm cult. Hey mamamo you should go to Hellas restaurant at the sponges docks right across from the dolphin fishing boat for your group meeting. Great greek salad and grouper sandwich. Then have some baklava and greek coffee for dessert. Lived in that area for over 33 years. Totally ADD

by truthseeker1969 infor the longest time i was so depressed and lonely although my old lady is a great source of comfort.. i had contemplated going back to meetings etc but then i found this site not long ago and i have found real comfort in each of you although i do not personally know you all.. i have had things revealed to me that i never knew which has changed my life and blondie in particular, her posts are always so balanced and clear and i thank her for them.
each of you now feels like family to me and i feel a genuine love and concern that is so lacking elsewhere and to each of you "thankyou".. .

It's my Birthday on Thursday
by nugget ini am having my second birthday out of the jws on the 14th of july the first after disfellowshipping and just need a few ideas for the day.
we went to arudel today to do pre birthday shopping so i am really looking forward to see what goodies they found.
there was much whispering in the corner of shops.

reading a life time of WT literatrash = College education
by Free!! inor at least that's what my super jw ex-roommate told me when i try to have an adult discussion w her about the importance of a higher education... according to her (a girl that never finished hs because it was not necessary) she has a better education than any college graduate because the jehovah has used the borg literatrash to teach her many many important things.... she says her knowledge of the "truth" is the equivalent of my 4 years of college education..... .

My wife and I have talked about this many times. What we have always observed is ignorant people out of pride think they are smart because they can read a simple article on a certain subject and understand some very simple point or thought. You put alot of these simple thoughts together even though they may not be related these people come up with the idea they must be really smart. JW education is a education of rote learning only. Which only touches on the surface of any subject. That is why because of cult thinking they have a college education without doing the work. Totally ADD

I remember a talk about sex with perfect people. According to the WT perfect people will be able to control themselves to were they really don't need sex. Because they are complete within themselves. Whatever that means. So lets say couple wants to have a child then I quess they talk it over and decide they have to have sex to do it. That takes all the foreplay out of it. sure, there are formal titles that we can't really get away from: pioneer, ministerial servant, elder, ______ overseer, governing body, the (watchtower) society, etc.
but there are plenty of other bits of parlance they use that i can do without.... for example:.

I agree with you Vampire. When I was in as a elder I would tell others the word worldly was wrong to use. Because it was a prejudice viewpoint against ones who were not JW. It would always stop the one I was talking to in their tracks. They would think about it and usually agree with me. Even then I was unconsciously questioning this cult. Totally ADD
