Leaving: No, I havent read that book yet. I would like to though. I've been mentally out for a long time, 5 years, maybe more. I just stay in for family. I don't even think I can do that anymore. I read the book, Tao Te Ching at the beginning of that time period, it was a real eye opener, along with the book Extraordinary Popular Delusions and the Madness of Crowds. After being awakened to reality, as well as experiencing a nervous breakdown from having the wool ripped from my eyes, I secretly explored everything else. So now you know how much pain im causing myself by doing something I don't believe in (eg. service, being an MS).

If I hear one more person say...
by iamwhoiam in"even if we don't agree with new light, we should ask ourselves, where else would we go?
without this organization, we would never have learned the basic bible truths we have today.".
this was stated twice in commenting and once by our conductor during our wt study yesterday.

This was stated twice in commenting and once by our conductor during our WT study yesterday. Our COBE also commented that, "we should never have the attitude of disagreement in regards to new light." Instead, let's have an excited attitude. Let's ask ourselves, what new light can we look forward too at this assembly? What is something new we can learn?"
Kill me now. The org are master brain washers. Now when I see it in action, I become ill. Playing with people's lives is so sick.

When is it time to fully open up to a spouse
by ihadnoidea inrecently my very active jw wife has been more critical of the wt and some of their stances.
she has particularly been critical of topics that hit home to some of the things going on in lives of our families.
i am still going through the motions as an active servant, but i am mentally out.

The more you listen to her talk without judgement, the more she will open up to you about her doubts. I would wait and tell her after there is no doubt in your mind she doesnt want anything to do with the org. I had a few people talk to me about their doubts on more than one occasion, but then they just say, "Jehovah has nothing but dust to work with" or "It's still his chosen organization." Me being an MS who is also mentally out am glad I didn't take the risk of blowing it. I also stay in only for family.

Do You Believe It Is Wrong To "Discipline" Your Child In A Physical Way?
by minimus inmy grandkids were being mouthy and they learned a new phrase, "shut your mouth".
it could be directed to their parents, grandparents or anyone who said something they didn't like.
they are 2 and 4 years old and beautiful children.

They didn't have child abuse when I was a kid. I got my ass beat when I did something I was told not to do or acted unruly. After I turned 10, it was go to to my room..when i became a teenager, it was being grounded and no phone priveleges. I like to think it was adaptive discipline. And I was glad I got it. One thing I do know, I was never disciplined out of anger or frustration. So i was lucky in that respect.

I have mine written out for the spring of next year.
Date:
Dear Brothers of the ------- Congregation,
Effective immediately, I no longer consider myself a volunteer/member of the organization of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Thankyou,
Name
There really is no need for an explanation as to why...if you do explain how you feel, you just open the door to slander and increase the chances of your family never talking to you. Check your ego at the door and move on.

Yet another guilt-inducing "Do-More" Watchtower article...
by Alfred innu-litetm: if youre in a wheel chair and have a speech impediment, you still have no excuse for not reporting field service hours every month.
so stop complaining, read the article below and start using your cell phone to send theocratic text messages.. .
from page 14 of the january 15, 2012 watchtower study edition.... .

What is your truth since you left the WT?
Im still in physically, but mentally left many years ago. I'm just in for my family as is the usual story. Anyways, my truth is this...
The future and past do not exist except as concepts in the now. All there is...is the moment of now. What we choose to do in the moment of now affects the odds of what might happen in the future.

You are all wicked Apostates!!!
by iamwhoiam inthis is nothing new obviously, i'm just using this as a sounding board to see if i'm looking at this thing correctly.
your thoughts are greatly appreciated.. watchtower july 15, 2011 p 15 paragraph 4 under the title "will you heed jehovah's clear warnings?".
4 to elders of the ephesus congregation, paul said: from among you yourselves men will rise and speak twisted things.

So if I don't believe in any doctrine and I just tell them I no longer want to be one of Jehovah's witnesses giving them no reason as to why...i'm basically still screwed as far as being labeled an apostate and shunned by my diehard family?
If this is the case, then it feels like religious hatred to me. Why would I want to be a part of that anyway?
