  Watchtower Door to Door Work...what an incredible waste of time.

  yesterday morning while driving heading for the grocery store i saw four jw women out in "service".

  they were walking very slowly on a street where there were no people out and about.

  i observed them for several minutes.

  11 vigilant christians refrain from using the world to the full with regard to higher education.. many people in this world consider higher education an indispensable stepping-stone to prestige and an affluent.

  I just read it over; what a gag fest. Get a load of this crap on page 7 par. 9

  Personal suffering can easily cause us to get so caught up in our own situation that concern over spiritual matters fades into the background.When praying to God for help, let us keep our mind focused on Jehovah, the sanctification of his name, and the vindication of his sovereignty.

  The WT put so much pressure and burden on people and nobody is off limits; including those that suffer from emotional or physical distress. In other words why don't they just say; "suck it up princess and get over yourself" GD ruthless bastards that they are!!

  Hi gwyneth...I noticed that too when I watched the episode. There is an earlier scene where he is arguing with his daughter and is waving a book in his hand. I thought man that looks like a WT songbook.

  Funny thing is I told my wife and daughter that he is probably one of the best RV's the Witlesses have as he will not turn down anything such as books that are free. Unfortunately Roi all the books etc from the WT are completely valueless!!!

  To Dissassociate or just Fade into Inactivity ? Your Choice ? Reasons ?

  this has been asked before, however i thought it may be good for newer members of the board to read some of our reasons on how we decided to exit the jw cult and why we decided to do it the way we did.. first off - i have been faded for almost 8 years.

  essentially i decided to fade into inactivity and not da because i have elderly jw parents who would shun me if i did get dfed or daed myself.

  also- i like keeping open the possibilities that some of my many jw relatives may in time start doubting and have questions and reach out to me in my inactive state.

  in canada, any corporation registered as a charity is public information.

  i occassionaly browse them to see what's going on, but i wanted to give some updated data.. http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/chrts-gvng/lstngs/menu-eng.html.

  if you are curious, you can type in jehovah, or assembly or circuit to get tax information (including donations and expenses) for all of them.. for their assembly halls it shows much of what has been already told.

  Wow, I searched the local congregations from where I live and many of the contacts listed are for elders that I know are no longer serving. One in particular stepped aside and has been inactive for 6 or 7 years. Too funny!

  he said, "given the fact that no other organization has won more supreme court cases than jehovah's witnesses to protect their religious freedom in north america and abroad is unrefutable evidence of jehovah's blessing by means of his holy spirit".. your thoughts?.

  During the conversation I was able to give him numerous examples as to why God's Holy Spirit was NOT with the organization, even citing biblical examples of when God removed his Holy Spirit from his chosen people. That there are conditions to recieve his blessings and it is not automatic. He still clung onto these court victories as overwhelming evidence. I said "overwhelming...really?" I disagreed with him and I am searching the collective intelligence of this forum for some suggestions on refuting his claim.

  Rutherford 1942 "Don't have kids till after Armagedon...Watchtower 2008 same advice!! Sick!

  i was shocked to read in the "witnesses only" study watchtower this stupid rutherford policy was still in place, compare.. rutherfords last book "children" {ironic title} 1942 - page 281 "wait until after armagedon to bring children into the world...it is only afew years...until armagedon...those with infants will have greater woe...it will be a far greater difficulty to care for them during the tribulation...".

  so if you were 20 years old in 1942 and waited......till 2011.....do the math.. wachtower 2008 april 15 p.19 "heading: "single and childless for a noble purpose.

  " ...numerous couples have decided to remain childless...to remain free to serve jehovah...putting kingdom interests above some of the privledges that go with marriage...jehovah will not forget...there will be a great tribulation...it will be a difficult time for us adults and children alike...".

  I know an elderly sister (who just recently passed away), her and her husband took the WT's advice and did not have any children. The years marched on and then she lost her husband. Although there were individuals from the congregation that helped her she once told me that "she felt like a burden to the congregation and she regretted deeply that she did not have children". When she died I found out that ironically she left most of her estate to the Watchtower! The very organization that gave them life altering bad advice ends up with a huge sum of money for this deed. It is just so wrong and disgusting!

  sir82, I agree the illustration was bogus, however I could not focus on anything but the "manure application". Still makes me laugh-I love it!
